Crime is down in many cities because they refuse to report them. Nashville is a good example, where the official policy is to under report crime to make it seem safer Anyone who really believes that crime has gone away is deluded.
Liberals like it this way. It makes it much easier for them to control people.
I mean people’s fear of what will happen is vastly exaggerated. The author says if “you” (meaning the average person) introduce yourself to a city dweller they will flee. Then the author says their fears are justified. Well, they aren’t. People have become wimps, happened a long time ago.
Too much time in the virtual world of the internet and gaming to spend time worrying about or fixing things in the real world.

Yea, but it’s hard not to report murders...

I would say there is euphoria, relative to the alternative. In the past people had to suck it up, even when it shattered their lives - they had no choice.
You also need to take into account people’s changing behaviours.
Let’s say there’s a neighbourhood where people get mugged a lot by the ruling gangs. If people stop going there, the muggings will drop and statistics will say the neighbourhood is safer. Of course, in reality the same gangs are still there and it is just as dangerous a place to visit. Statistics alone often don’t tell the real tale of societal collapse.
That started with Clinton.

Yes, stuff like that happens on micro-scale. But this article talks about the country as a whole. So go here and have a look:

But we had the same thing. Before Hispanics moved in, blacks owned it, and before that the Mafia owned it...all the way back to prohibition.

Yea, these people are definitely not a disinterested party, yet many of us have been and are still saying that, based on our budget trajectory, we MUST collapse. Obviously no one knows when.
My recommendation is to do what I did yesterday and make sure you have a reasonable amount of supplies. In my case, it was Sam’s Club. But Costco sells doomsday kits. No reason to spend 5 times as much to buy from these clowns.
I partially agree with the author; it’s getting dangerous out there.
However, I remember stories told by my parents who grew up in the 1920s and Great Depression:
My mother grew up in a small town in Central Texas. There was a motel where traveling salesmen stayed. The owners of the motel allowed the salesmen to have sex with their 13 y/o daughter who was retarded. They did it to make more money from renting the rooms.
Mom also told me there was a fair amount of wife beating and child abuse going on.
An immigrant German farmer let the local black people, who were close to starvation, glean food from his fields after he harvested. The KKK showed up at midnight and shot him at his front door. The bullet went through him and hit his daughter.
We have appalling problems today, but I have faith in the American people. Our country will stumble, fall, argue about the causes, and, ultimately, muddle through.
