Does Sarah's Vote For Newt Constitute an Endorsement?
The Daily Caller ^ | 03/06/2012 | Jeff Poor

Palin tells Fox News Neil Cavuto “I knew you were going to ask me that, and I am just the poorest politician-sounding pundit,” Palin said. “It is tough for me to spin out of a question like that when it comes from a Fox reporter. If it comes from another reporter, I can spin out of it. Since it came from you, I will tell you, I won’t sound like a politician and I will tell you who I voted for tonight.”

Palin laid out her criteria in her decision.

“I considered who can best bust through the Orwellian Obama rhetoric that we heard more of today in Obama’s press conference talking about another insolvent and unconstitutional bailout that has no funds to finance — another program that he wants to kind of forced down our throat. Who can best bust these ideas of America never taking steps towards energy independence and we have the natural resources here and can do it, and who can best bust through that radical left dispensation and desire to mistreat those who are defenseless, mistreat those who perhaps have some disadvantages by making them more beholden to government? Who best can contrast themselves from that?”

Who was that? Palin said it was Gingrich, the “cheerful one.”

Can’t understand why everyone cannot see it.

I believe those are the ones that the media does their thinking for them.

Rick's record is disastrous. What is he standing on now - his social issues - he campaigned and voted for the exact opposite in '08 - a pro abortion and a not for traditional marriage pro homo candidate. Whatever sells at the time to bring him gain - it's all about him - not any issue and certainly not for America.

He's a liar, a con man, a flip flopper like the one he supports, Mitt. His voters just don't get it - the dumbing down of America is real.

Yeah Baby!!!

Let’s put this into perspective.... mcromney is a white fubo with an r after his name..

Santorum is a big government establishment pub, and would be the bushes 4th term...

I do not want another fubo, nor do I want a bush 4th term.

I want the meanest sob on the block, a hatched man that is not afraid of the communists or the “compassionate” conservatives...

I can find no fault with your reasoning, however I will vote for anyone except Obama.

I believe we are stuck with Romney which means we are stuck with Obamacare. I don’t think even Romney knows what he is getting himself into. Romney just wants the title.

—And it could have been a protest vote against Mitt.—

But she didn’t say it was.

That is one of the reasons it is an endorsement. She is saying, that as far as she is concerned, the best of our current choices is Newt. And she knows that will cause a lot of folks to vote for Newt.

That, by definition, is an endorsement.

I understand... I spent my lifetime reasoning as you are now. I cannot fault you for doing what you are compelled to do. I just cannot... something deep within me had red flagged romney long ago... I could not vote for him even if I tried to force myself to.

I’ve talked with her at length. She is no idiot.

I never said she was. But her voting for Newt is not going to change a thing for him. Did he win Alaska last night?

He's done.

The ONLY candidate that knows what they are getting into is Newt Gingrich. From the moment it appeared Obama would be president, I knew what we were in for, most of us did. In every part of me, I also know that Rick Santorum if elected, is not ready for the world stage. He is facing a crippled economy, a potential conflagration in the middle east which will involve china and Russia, European financial crisis, the list goes on. This is a disaster in the making.

The dictionary definition of endorse (in the political sense) means to give public support or approval. Sarah supported him by voting for him and declaring she did so; she made approving statements of him at the same time. I don’t think she has to use the “e” word to make it any more plain.

I don’t know, does it?

Alaska final results:

Mitt Romney 4,225 32.6%
Rick Santorum 3,762 29%
Ron Paul 3,105 24%
Newt Gingrich 1,834 14.2%
Other 32 0.2%

I honestly think that the establishment looks at many of us down here in the south as just pockets and idiots as well as looking down on us.

They think they know more than us and we should just follow blindly.

I agree 100% Santorum is not near ready and Obama is surrendering without firing a shot.

I agree... which is why I KNOW that the republican party as it exists today must be changed or destroyed...and I no longer care which.

Sarah is the one splitting hairs. If she endorses a loser, her ‘kingmaker’ mystique is gone. I think that’s why she’s been so quiet

That and her 7 digit contract with Fox who is in the tank for Obamney.

IMHO she should either Fox and be an activist or not, can't be both at this point...
