WASHINGTON, March 10 (LID) Federal regulators will decide this month whether to ban use of the synthetic chemical bisphenol-A (BPA) in all food packaging, officials said.

Claiming that “one in sixteen” babies using formula are getting enough BPA to be harmful (at least to lab rats). The Obama admin has made everything cynical and I have no idea if there is any merit to that claim or if junk science is ruling again.
I don't know what the alternative might be but I do have a friend who is upset over this due to it meaning that grocery chains he deals with not being able to warehouse some things for as long which will in turn will mean that there will be bigger seasonal variations for some food more like there was in the forties and fifties. My guess is that there will be a campaign contribution or two made and the FDA will decide that current levels of use really are safe rather than using some new standard that would outlaw use.
I didn't get too many specifics out of my ranting friend but I'll probably go look up some of the things that are treated and see if I can figure out how he reached his conclusions. I really don't understand what has to be treated to not store well since there's canned food around from the forties that's still just fine.
To me, though, this looks like election year blackmail to get another industry to play ball with the Chicago crowd in charge.
Look for a resurgence of glass packaging. The downside is increased weight when it comes to transportation cost. The Obama plan of high fuel prices is strangling the economy.
“Claiming that one in sixteen babies using formula are getting enough BPA to be harmful (at least to lab rats).”
since most libtards think babies are, at best, equal to lab rats i can see why they are concerned.
Anyone notice a change in boys and in men over the last few decades?
Who thought all that synthetic estrogen in the food supply and then into the environment was a good plan?
Surely there are other lining materials? Glass has the problem of being fragile.
