Yes, it’s true that Representative Allen West (R-FL) hit a Porsche this morning, but it was to bring attention to a bill that he is co-sponsoring in Congress called the Safe Teen and Novice Uniform Protection (STANDUP) Act – H.R. 1515.

West spoke to students, educators, and law enforcement officials at Jupiter High School emphasizing his support for the bill after he took the simulated driving test that shows what can happen when you text and drive.

"If you're gonna hit something, hit a Porsche," West said as his test came to an end.

It said simulating in the headline.

I like this bill. I see kids texting while driving all the time. Having a bunch of teens in the car is so distracting. It is so dangerous.

My kids begged me to let them drive other kids home from school and such. No way. I hate that so many of them have cell phones.

simulating isn’t the same as a simulator

Not just kids, I see adults do it. Parents must be good examples.

I’d love that moron Alan Grayson to start claiming West hit a Porsche texting and driving without reading the article in context. Because he is stupid enough to do it.

Meanwhile, Grayson runs red lights and plows into buses. For real.

That would be great, and it’s something he would do - speaking without checking.

What business does the FedMob have in traffic laws? This is a state issue.

I agree. I was wondering when someone was going to pick up on this. What’s really surprising is the fact that West is generally a small government guy. Maybe someone spiked his coffee.

What’s sad is that more people will think West was in a real accident, than know about Grayson’s accident.

Thanks. I like West a lot but something seems to happen to these guys when they go to DC. I hope he keeps that in check. It’s kind of disgusting to see so many here think it’s just wonderful to have some more FedMob intrusion on their lives. Pretty soon 0bamaCare goes into effect and they will have all they can enjoy.
