Whatever Newt is hoping for by not dropping out is not going to happen.
As this man said, there will not be a brokered convention as Newt hopes there will be and if Romney takes IL then more than likely it's over for the most part, and we can thank the Newt campaign and the Newt supporters for the Mitt Romney GOP nominee... but then again, maybe that was their intent after all once they knew Newt would not get the delegates he needed.

Very reasonable assumption. If so, reprehensible. Just reprehensible.

(If Free Republic morphs into a supportive site for Romney, I'll conclude my 13 year participation.)

The only reason that Santorum has been in contention at all is because of the avalanche of lying and misleading ads that Newt had to endure by Romney in Iowa and Florida. Santorum has been angling to be Romney’s VP all along and if Newt were to get out that’s what would happen and quickly.
I don’t trust Santorum to stop Romney. Go Newt!
