Left wants classes promoting racism and revolution back in Arizona schools

On January 1, 2011 a law banning certain “ethnic studies” classes went into effect in Arizona. The law makes it illegal for a school district to teach courses which “promote the overthrow of the US government, promote resentment of a particular race or class of people, are designed primarily for students of a particular ethnic group or advocate ‘ethnic solidarity’ instead of the treatment of pupils as individuals.” (1)

But it was not the ever-compassionate, ethnicity-conscious left which wrote and implemented legislation making it a crime to teach violence and racism.

Rather, the law was passed by the Republican controlled Arizona legislature and signed by the State’s Republican governor.

And the left is fit to be tied over it!

According to one liberal professor, the Arizona legislature has committed “ethnocide,” or more properly “ethnonormativity” by implementing a law which hopes to preserve some semblance of sanity in Arizona schools.

As the professor puts it, the law “takes the teachings of one culture—the colonizer’s—and makes it the standard version of history while literally banning other accounts, turning the master narrative into the ‘normal’ one…” (2)

In short, the evil “colonizing white man” has once again trodden mistreated Chicanas and Chicanos underfoot, preventing them learning the true history of their struggles with the white devil slave master by making such studies illegal.

No kidding, that’s really what the professor believes as he calls the Arizona statute “a potent example of legislative bigotry and open persecution of...

Pointing out Leftist hypocrisy is of course...pointless.

About the only thing good about it is that they reveal themselves. It was never about "getting kids in touch with their history", it's about feeding them the red meat of resentment and raising the pressure to boiling. Bloodshed and violence come next, but it's all for the good...according to the Leftists.

One big point that should be made. Nobody colonized anybody, except the two antagonists known as the Americans and the Mexicans (er, Spaniards). Both of them the descendants of colonial powers, and age old enemies.

And Mexico lost. What did they lose? The right to put their name on a map, which is about all they had at the time. There were almost no Mexicans in the southwest if you put it in context; it's one of the reasons they lost.

Pictures of Tucson and the Salt River Valley (it wasnt called Phoenix yet)would show you a tiny village of Mexicans and Tohono Oodham indians in the first case and open desert in the second case.

It was called La Frontera by the Mexicans and the only thing they really had anyone there to do was shoot Apache and keep them from moving south.

Phoenix started in 1867 with a guy named Swilling who envisioned agriculture in a place that Mexico couldn't dream of. That they now claim it as "theirs" is merely attempted theft by those who couldn't from those who could.

The truth is that the Mexicans never had much of anything to do with the southwest, their "settlement" of California was a pathetic attempt by the King of Spain to claim land that wasn't his, and they barely even existed in Arizona.

The "Chicano" story of victimization in "their" homeland is a fairy tale, a fraud and a farce.

What it really is: an attempt to take what they could not make.

If they had a voucher system in Arizona then the parents who didn’t want their kids taught that stuff could go to a school that didn’t teach it, and those that wanted it could likewise send their kids to one that does. There you have it. No conflicts and no unhappy parents. Let there be plenty of choices to choose from. They are leftists so certainly they are pro choice.
