During Katrina the churches, and individuals, did far more to help than government.
I mean other than Sean Penn who single handedly save MS and LA. haha..remember him down there with his boat.
Anyhow, I didn’t see a lot of coverage of all incredible work the church orgs did down there.
If I didn’t know better I would almost conclude there was a deliberate effort made by the MSM to ignore reality or worse..create their own made up version of reality???

Its is perfectly understandable from statist point of view.
Destroying philanthropy creates a crisis that government can exploit to further increase its power and scope.
Also, if something is provided by philanthropy, it is charity. Can’t have that. Might make the parasites feel bad about themselves. If the government provides it, they can make it a “right,” again increasing its power and scope.
