John Dewey: He was a Fabian socialst, and also the father of modern education. You'll love this guy, search my archives for some of the things he's written.

Dewey is responsible for the decline in American education starting in the late twenties and early thirties. My 87 year old mother grew up steeped in Deweyisms such as school was necessary to "socialize" [could he have been more blatant?] a child.

What nonsense. Children learn how to behave by following the example of parents, grandparents, and older siblings. The idea that plunking them down in a room full of 5 year old wild animals makes sense is absurd.

I applaud all you home-schoolers who have the wisdom to ignore Dewey.
