SCOTTSDALE - An urgent plea from United Blood Services: please give blood! There is a big shortage of type O-Negative blood. Without that blood type in stock, lives could be at risk.
United Blood Services always needs blood donors. Type O-Negative blood is especially important to keep in stock.
Only six percent of people have O-Negative blood. If you're one of them, please step up and help out.
Jordan and Josh Buchanan are identical twins, freshmen at Corona Del Sol High School.
Post to the Arizona board...
I thought it was possible to strip out the Rh factors, and therefore only major type was relevant.
Well i used to be a regular blood donor in Australia, i am AB RH(D) Positive, but they stopped me after the Mad Cow episode in the Uk coz i ate some beef, and i now live in Samoa where there are only about 20 people with the same blood group, a fellow fell ill and they asked me to donate, so i went to the hospital and was rejetced coz i am now diabetic, something about antibodies. Poor fellow died.
so please donate if you can, it will make you feel good about yourself, help people in need , also I am the father of twins.
I have A2B-negative....at one time my brother, my cousin and I all lived in Houston. We were told by medical people we were probably the only three people in Houston with that type blood. It’s extremely rare and even more that three people in the same family has it. But’s no big deal. We can take any other negative blood.
It’s pretty much all over ... Central Florida was panicking bringing in what they could find from all over the country last week...
The problem is that to ensure a monopoly the blood banks wanted blood classified as an “organ” ,,, making the sale of such illegal... that’s why you can sell components (plasma) but not whole blood. The answer is simple ,, let people sell blood legally.
