Hi everyone, I'm arriving at San Jose airport on Tuesday the 29th at 1:00PM, and need a short ride to my family's house a short distance away. My 87 year old dad just passed and I'm flying in from Texas to attend his funeral. None of my family members can pick me up, and I don't want to put myself at the mercy of some Uber driver with piercings and tattoos, nor do I trust foreign taxi drivers. If anyone in the San Jose area can give me a lift to my dad's house (less than ten miles), I'll be...

Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Wednesday the Democratic National Committee decided it didn't need the department's help when it was hacked by the Russians and instead opted to rely on a private cybersecurity firm. "This was a question I asked repeatedly when I learned of [the hacking]—what are we doing? Are we in there? Are we helping them discover the vulnerabilities, because this was fresh off the OPM experience and there was a point at which DHS cybersecurity experts did get in to OPM and help them discover the bad actors and patch some of the...

Norma Evanston is an 88-year old widow who had remained healthy until two years ago, when she suffered a fall. Since her children live out of state, the family made several long-distance calls and ultimately, hired a local caregiver. However, several months later, after a concerning phone call, the family realized that the caregiver was not providing the professional care they expected. Despite the fact that the caregiver was hired from a “reputable” company, Norma’s doctor reported that Norma had suspicious bedsores and had missed a scheduled appointment. Fortunately, the family was able to make alternate arrangements to ensure that...

I had a professor this semester who is a community organizer from Chicago (I kid you not). He was utterly worthless, I am one of a number of students who reported him for being worthless, and he hates me (because he always did and) because the administration has evidently cracked down on him. He holds a chokehold over EVERY student in my discipline, since every student will have to take this ONE professor for one worthless (waste of money), but required course. What do I do? This is so wrong. So very very heinously wrong. He is so worthless, and...

Heroes can emanate from all walks of life, but this particular hero is the gift that just keeps on giving. Army Staff Sergeant Earl Granville is receiving a ton of attention, and rightfully so, for what he did during the Boston Marathon on Monday. Granville could be seen around mile 26 carrying a woman on his shoulders, along with an American flag, so that she could cross the finish line. There hasn’t been word yet on why the woman needed to be carried, but when it comes to marathons, injuries and cramping are commonplace. Regardless of the reason, Granville decided...

Problem is, although I've selected Chat/General and News/Activism....somehow "religion" "blogs/bloggers" and "everything" are also high lighted which in turn fills my thread page with threads I really don't want to respond to but Some thread titles can be misleading...it's might seem petty to some, but can lead to misunderstandings. How does one fix this...I've send this to the help section, but no response so far

I just finished listening to The Rush POD CAST. Rush is correct. Just where is all the Republicans? Trump CANNOT do all the good work alone. He needs help and strong assistance. Where is it? I see that Sessions and McCain are so quick to stab him in the back. I see some bozo (fake) conservatives want to "reach across the isle" and pen "moderate" legislation with the losing progressives. What is all this nonsense???? Trump needs our help. This is not the time to sit on the sidelines and let one man do all the heavy lifting. He needs...

... We’ll get away from firearms this trip, and look at something else related to personal safety: recognition of pre-assaultive behavior cues..... Being able to recognize body language associated with imminent violent action can allow you to, in the best-case scenario, disengage and leave the scene. At worst, it can give you time to activate a plan of self-defense soon enough to effectively protect yourself and those for whose safety you are responsible. Danger signals The eyes, it is said, are the windows to the soul. Often, the way in which a hostile person looks at you can be a...

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Trump train that carried Republicans to victory all over the South may have left one car behind in North Carolina — Gov. Pat McCrory, who trailed by a few thousand votes Thursday in a still too-close-to-call race that played out amid anger over the state's transgender bathroom law. The law limiting LGBT rights appeared to have a substantial role in the Election Day contest between McCrory, who signed the measure and vigorously defended it against boycotts and other protests, and Democratic Attorney General Roy Cooper, who called for its repeal.

Israeli is planning to "eliminate Abbas politically and physically" as it did to Yasser Arafat - according to the newest Palestinian Authority libel against Israel. So reports Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), which monitors anti-Israel incitement in PA media reports and official statements. With the 12th anniversary of the death of arch-terrorists and ex-PA leader Yasser Arafat approaching, the PA has revived its old libel that Israel murdered Arafat, ignoring the fact that it has been disproven by several different medical teams. To add insult to injury, the PA is now adding warnings of an impending Israeli "assassination" of current PA...

Iranian-American Pastor Saeed Abedini has recently come forward to show his gratitude and support for Donald Trump in this upcoming election. While the pastor from Boise, Idaho was stuck in a Iranian prison for three and a half years simply because of his faith, Donald Trump gave Abedini’s family $10,000 to help provide for his family in need. In a Facebook post on Sunday Abedini wrote “I am finally free in a free country. Last year on the same day I was sick and in chains for Christ, and now I can vote to choose my next president.” “And most...
