As a result of a racialized criminal justice system, black folk are disproportionately stripped on their right to vote, denied participation on juries, and discriminated against for employment and housing. Those most in need of assistance are denied public housing, food stamps, access to education, and any number of other resources for restorative support. With no job, no house, no food, and no allies is it any wonder that there is a 70% recidivism rate? Every year, our legal system robs millions of the achievements made by the heroes of the Civil Rights movement.

Followed the link, and did not find this article, nor the name “Katelin Hansen”.
The link works fine for me, and the excerpt is in the middle of the page.

The author’s name I got from Facebook, and immediately after it was posted she “liked” the post.
That statistic probably should read: black women are 10 times more likely to show up to the delivery room high than white mothers.
It is law in most states (all states?) that a mother be tested in the hospital after delivery for drugs. The reason being if the mother is high, the newborn is also and that can cause life-threatening complications for the newborn. I believe the samples are identified by number so the testing lab has no way of knowing the skin color of the patient. They just report the results.
OK - thanks.
You know, if I *was* racist, I would be all for letting a lot of black killers out of jail because those monsters are the primary cause of death for young black males ages 15-34. Proof. But I'm not, so this is a no-go. Keep the murderers locked up...
I'm black, and can tell you for a fact that the author is full of horse sh!t (to put it mildly).
She's playing the same old worn out victim card that was once platinum back in the 60s. That crap has been shown to be an utter lie so many times now, that the victim card hardly rates copper plating anymore. It's frankly worthless.
Black folks who wind up in prison are working hard to get there. Those who live in good neighborhoods and earn above the median average, are also working hard to be where they are. Just like anyone else.
Ask this woman, if what she says is true, then why isn't the freaking BLACK president doing something about it? You might also want to ask her about Michelle Obama's lavish lifestyle, and her multi-gazillion dollar trips abroad. What's she think of that?
Heather MacDonald who writes for City-Journal.org is a good start.

Click on advanced search by author, then Heather MacDonald. She writes extensively on crime issues and often about race.
I believe that the main reason the black murder rate dropped so much in the past 15 years was because of longer incarceration rates for gunslingers and even petty criminals (who may have been dissuaded from more serious crimes). I think the problem lies with some “intellectuals” having too much say in policy. The average black person has to live with the consequences of failed, mainly inner city, administrations who buy into going soft on crime.
Thanks for the links; I added them to my reply to the blog post.
