Why is the IRS Diverting $500 Million to Enforce Obamacare?
ATR ^ | 2012-04-09 | John Kartch

Millions of Americans are struggling to meet the April 17 IRS tax filing deadline. [Yester]day, The Hill newspaper report[ed] that the IRS is receiving an emergency infusion of $500 million from the Obama administration – not to enforce the existing convoluted tax code – but to impose the 2,700-page Obamacare law on an unwilling country.

Why would the IRS need hundreds of millions of dollars to implement a healthcare law?

Because Obamacare is one of the largest tax hikes in history, saddling American families and small employers with 20 new or higher taxes.

Click below to see the full list of Obamacare tax increases by 1) size of tax hike and 2) order of effective date:

A good part of this goes to enforcement of the mandate. If you can’t show you have the apropo insurance, you get fined and pay it when you file taxes.

If you don’t pay the fine, the money will ultimately be collected by taking it out of your social security payments and/or tax refunds.

because “enforcing it before it exists” is the logical conclusion to “pass it before we know what’s in it”.

then, you see, we would have actually enforced something before we knew what it was, and I am pretty sure that this was the whole point all along.

In the left’s worldview old people should have the decency to die when they can no longer work. Unlike young, unemployed moochers they cannot hit the streets and riot so they are of no use.

Here is the reason, and you do not need to go any further:

They are trying to entrench the bureaucracy as completely and fully as they can, so that all these new agencies and employees (all unionized, I am certain) will be able to protest if their jobs are going to be retracted.

Which, of course, we know will not happen. When people ask me why I think government is out of control, I ask them to give me a single example of a disbanded government agency.

They can’t. Because those are jobs for life. And that is what they are trying to do with implementing Obamacare.

From Pravada: Illegal governments do illegal things. I surmise obozo care is about controlling the people and this illicit administration enlisting of the American version of the Gestapo (the IRS) to enforce it is proof so it will be interesting to see what happens if the Supremes declare obozo care unconstitutional. Info all over the web indicates that this government is gearing up for some serious citizen anti-government activity.

I hope the SC votes this out totally. It is a real disaster for us.

Since tucked in the healthcare law requires the banks to provide your bank account numbers I’ll assume they will just take it from what you have in there rather than wait for your taxes.

They'll have to make it illegal to make withdrawals then. I'll put it in my mattress before the taxman can get into my bank account.

*******

Precisely!! Just take a look at the third largest employer in the world… Britain’s national health care system. Do you think they’ll vote themselves out of a job just to fix a system that is hopelessly broken???

requires the banks to provide your bank account numbers No such provision. Sec.5000a of the healthcare law indicates: 9 ‘‘(2) INCLUSION WITH RETURN.—Any penalty 10 imposed by this section with respect to any month 11 shall be included with a taxpayer’s return under 12 chapter 1 for the taxable year which includes such 13 month. If you don't pay it, it gets handled like any other federal debt.

I didn’t know that! They are the third largest in the world? Man, we have no chance of not breaking that record easily if things don’t change.

Rush had a brilliant monologue today on why the IRS will be heavily involved in Obamacare if the legislation is upheld.

He explained the scenario step by step in easy-to-understand terms....so easily understandable that it was chilling....and should shake everyone to the core who loves freedom.

I wish someone could post a postcript of his explanation, or at least a link to it if it's somewhere to be found on the internet.

Again...it was just brilliant.

According to this it sure does

You should go to thomas.gov and download a copy of the law and read it yourself.

If you do that and read the section including page 59, you'll see that this requires that electronic payments be allowed. Meaning, you can electronically debit payments to your doctor. In addition, doctors will be able to be electronically reimbursed from insurance companies.

This has nothing to do with debt collection or fines, which is the subject of this thread (what the irs is doing here).

Now, the feds will have your account number if you are subject to backup withholding. That is nothing new and exists today.

So, not paying the fine for not having insurance can certainly lead to the feds raiding your account, but they need to get a judgement for that. What they usually do, for small amounts like the fine, is withhold refunds, social security, or any other fed money you currently get.
