Skipping the Grand Jury and filing murder charges appeases a large sector of the electorate and safely punts the case into next year.
The reason is because there wasn’t a charge of 1st degree murder. Simple as that.
I see two possibilities:
1. The GJ doesn't indict Zimmerman and the expected racial "unrest" occurs.
2. The GJ does indict Zimmerman, but for first degree murder, and she knows that no prosecutor in the world can convict him on the evidence. Upon his subsequent acquittal, the expected racial "unrest" occurs.
Speaking as a former Prosecutor, we would rarely take cases like this to the Grand Jury. We always preferred to make the call ourselves. Sometimes we would because we didn’t want to go through a preliminary hearing. This just isn’t an unusual move at all.
Not when you know the outcome it isn't.

How was George Zimmerman supposed to know that the young tough Trayvon Martin liked street boxing, had an attitude & was dumb enough to bring his gangsta thug fists to a gunfight, instead of bringing home the requested Skittles to his brother Chad?

I wonder how Hispanics are feeling about this.
George Zimmerman’s mother is a latina, and though we know he’s not, George LOOKS like a pure-bred Mexican. Hispanics and blacks have never been a natural alliance, one could even say they’ve been a bit weary of each other.
This whole thing could backfire in that Hispanics are probably feeling a great deal of affinity with George, and could take offense at what will surely appear to them as an attempt to railroad one of their own. Far more votes could be lost as a result of pushing this, than will be gained among blacks, who are already solidly in the Obama camp.
I think it’s a big political blunder for the left to try to gain politically by pushing the envelope here.

On 23 March Norm Wolfinger, States Attorney for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida asked to be recused in the Trayvon Martin shooting case. To replace him, the Governor nominated the States Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court, Angela Corey. For this case she is just the prosecutor.
The reason she dismissed the grand jury rhymes with NO BILL.
My point is that if there is evidence that compels a prosecution found by the second prosecutor then it was ignored by the original DA. More “racisim” donchaknow. Prosecute it. It would make an excellent show. I mean, imagine what the DA would have to do and say to defend himself. The Left of course understands this. This is why they find that Zim is an evil honkey for getting off...but no one is responsible for it!
She has a duty to the people toinvestigate the first DA who found no crime where she subsequently did (without any new evidence). SOMEONE has this duty. Of course no one on the left is stupid enough to prosecute the DA because they know he would defend himself.
