The Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue Department is investigating a Facebook post by one of its captains that seems to blame the shooting death of Trayvon Martin on the "shi*tbag parents" of "our urban youth," and the "ghetto hoodie look" of young black men like Martin.
The entry was posted on the personal Facebook page of Miami-Dade fire captain Brian Beckmann. The Facebook page bears the same profile picture as the entry, which appears to have been deleted, but which was captured in a screengrab sent to theGrio.
The page's profile entry lists Metro-Dade Firefighters Local 1403.
The entry appears to have been created on Wednesday, the night State Attorney Angela Corey announced she would file second degree murder charges against George Zimmerman in Martin's shooting death.
"Listening to Prosecutor Corey blow herself and her staff for five minutes before pre-passing judgment on George Zimmerman," it read.
"The state seeks reelection again, truth aside. I and my coworkers could rewrite the book on whether our urban youths are victims of racist profiling or products of their failed, sh*tbag, ignorant, pathetic, welfare dependent excuses for parents, but like Mrs. Corey, we speak only the truth. They're just misunderstood little church going angels and the ghetto hoodie look doesn't have anything to do with why people wonder if they're about to get jacked by a thug."
Beckmann responded to questions about the page in a Facebook message, saying "I am a private citizen and have the same right to freely express an opinion on any subject that anyone else does. I choose not to embellish or alter the facts as your employer chose to do."
He offered to contact theGrio when he was "off duty" for further comment.
The source who provided theGrio with the Facebook entry expressed concern that the comments reflected "the thoughts of someone who responds to the homes of the very people" being denigrated in the post.
A Miami-Dade Fire Department spokesman issued the following statement:
Captain Brian Beckmann has been with Miami-Dade county since 1997. The post on his personal Facebook page is being investigated by Miami-Dade fire rescue. The department's only official Facebook page is: www.facebook.com/MiamiDadeFireRescue.
I wonder when the Dad actually arrived back to the apt.
He was visiting the GF and might be that no one recognized Trayvon as it wasn’t his own “hood”.
The other child in the apt....Didn’t the Dad ASK HIM where Trayvon went? The Dad’s story stinks, IMO.
Somewhere along the line I read that Trayvon begged his father to walk to 7-11 and dad relented. Haven’t heard that story lately. Anyone else remember that?

Pictures of TM (As in TradeMark) have him riding a horse, playing in the snow etc. So this family, although separated was not destitute. They were a solid middle class.

I have often said that facebook is a bad thing to get involved in. Too much personal information there to be spread around.
Now this man is in trouble for merely stating his views.
Truth be known, Ambulance and Fire crews spend two thirds of their time working with the people that this Fire Captain describes.
People who abuse the ambulance system horrendously, and call the Fire Department to solve all of their problems.
People who call the ambulance so they will get quicker access to Emergency rooms.People who have a water leak and all they had to do was turn off the valve at the source.

This ought to be interesting. Beckmann, a union member, criticizing a favored group (parasites a.k.a., useful idiots) of the Leftists/Marxists who control the union he belongs too. Bet he loses his union benefits and membership. They cannot allow independent and dissonant opinions within the rank and file. That’s a no no. As good little robots, ALL the union members must march when their leaders say march, and parrot what their say and donate UNION DUES to candidates that take away their Freedom and Liberty.
How can you be so judgmental? Were Tray’s parents were ever married? Mom could have been a girlfriend too. Dad could be a muslim. No problem.

I haven’t heard that! Interesting if true. But then I recently read that Martin was staying with his UNCLE, not his father.
So many tales being told, it’s hard to get to the truth.
Government fireman is one of the few sure paths to riches these days. I don’t think I’d ever do anything to risk my employment.
