Sheriff Arpaio: ‘I’ll Put up More Tents’ If Supreme Court Upholds Arizona Immigration Law

(CNSNews.com) – If the Supreme Court decides in favor of Arizona’s tough immigration bill, the Obama attorney arguing against SB 1070 predicted “mass incarceration” of Latinos.

But Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio told CNSNews.com that he does not see that as a problem in his jurisdiction.

“We lock up people all the time,” Arpaio said in a phone interview last week. “Since I started enforcement, we’ve arrested on the streets, investigated – in our jails over 51,000.

“I didn’t see any problem, other than the fact that some activists and politicians in Washington (don’t) like me enforcing the illegal immigration law,” Arpaio said.

“And by the way, if they think that it will overcrowd the jails, I’m not concerned,” Arpaio said. “I got room in the tents. I got plenty of room.

“I’ll put more tents up,” Arpaio said. “So that should never be an excuse (that) you can’t house these people.”

As reported earlier by CNSNews.com, during oral arguments before the high court on the law – which allows state police to check the immigration status of individuals stopped, detained or arrested for other reasons – Solicitor General Donald Verrilli responded to Justice Antonin Scalia’s remarks that Arizona seems to be merely enacting laws that are already federal statutes.

“Well, what I think they are going to do in Arizona is something quite extraordinary, that has significant, real and practical foreign relations effects,” Verrilli said. “And that's the problem, and it's the reason why this power needs to be vested exclusively in the federal government.”

Nice to be back went to Florida for much needed vacation and aeven more much needed break from Houston. God, I wish we could Clone Sheriff Joe Arpaio so all 57 states can have their own Sheriff Joe Arpaio ( I am being sarcastic, hehe ) If we had Sheriff Joe Arpaio in every state, illegals will see how quickly they wore out their welcome.

Shirking your duty is anthema to Arpaio- if every American retracted from their honor because of the odds or obstacles there would be no Republic.

The right path is the only path, no matter how few agree and travel with you.

Laying down this life as a concept gets easier to swallow the older I get.

When I was a young Christian many years ago we thought the end of the world was nigh.

We joined the world and had families and worldy cares.

I regret now that I only have one life to give for the Truth (and this Nation). I’d like to go awhile yet, but I’ve had a good run.

Personally, I am all for the tent idea being adopted by more states, as for prisons they could re-invent the old Quonset hut idea. Put up a bunch of huts, surround them with 3 layers of fencing, electrified of course, and machine gun towers. No TV, no weight rooms, no libraries. Also, bring back the road gangs, make 'em work for their food and board. Baloney sandwiches are a good idea also.

Why in the world do we need to spend millions on prisoners when we could cut the cost of keeping them at least in half.

Thank you for the link..magna did you catch this Saturday, April 28, 2012
“There are only so many protests you can go to,” Spring romance novelist Barbara Smith said Friday night, explaining between speeches in the ballroom of a suburban Houston hotel why in 2009 she joined the King Street Patriots, a local tea party group and got active as a poll watcher in 2010. She was among some 350 people from 32 states who signed up for a two-day True the Vote conference devoted to recognizing and rooting out election fraud.

A controversial project of the King Street Patriots, founded in 2009 by Richmond resident Catherine Engelbrecht, True the Vote trained some 700 poll watchers to look for voting irregularities in the 2010 election. Its volunteers combined to send 800 complaints of improper voting to Harris County officials, who investigated a few but ultimately took no legal action.

Those being watched were not so pleased. The King Street effort resulted in numerous complaints about voter intimidation, particularly in minority neighborhoods, as well as a lawsuit filed by the Texas Democratic Party, an ethics complaint from the watchdog group Texans for Public Justice and an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice. (Attorney General Eric Holder is the group’s bête noire).

Remember this..........Now today we learn that officials at the US Department of Justice announced that they had dropped their investigation of voter intimidation by the radical New Black Panther Party, yet another radical group who were devoted to the election of Barack Obama

Yes.My husband and I have gone to many meetings here and assisted in the elections. Of course now we are focused on the remaining 90 days left to get thousands of signatures to overturn sanctuary city policy and get E-Verify for city contracts.
My director Maria Martinez attended the summit last Saturday.
If you know anyone in Houston interested in fighting illegal immigration let me know. We are trying to get boots on the ground for the Primary Election.
In Texas, even with a good Tea Party purge the governor does not support enforcement.
