Remember how I said black people weren't going to go for Mitt Romney just because the president completed his "evolution" on same-sex marriage? The Informer endorses President Barack Obama's stance:
There will be those who seek to use this issue to divide our community. As a people, we cannot afford such division. It is our hope that conversations on strengthening African American families continue in a civil and respectful way, on all sides, both with those who support the ability of same-sex couples to marry, and those who do not.
We are glad that President Obama has joined Dr. Joseph Lowery, Dr. Julian Bond and so many others in full embrace of equality for gay and lesbian individuals in our country. We also welcome the civil debate on this issue that will surely spring. And we encourage all individuals to keep all issues of import to our communities in mind in the days ahead, and we seek to secure equal justice, opportunity and dignity for all God's children.
Meanwhile Earl Ofari Hutchison, a political analyst who co-hosts Al Sharpton's radio show writes that there's no evidence that blacks voting for anti-gay-marriage initiatives would also vote against the president:
Gay marriage is really only a political worry, or more accurately, a political talking point now because Obama became the first sitting president to cautiously endorse gay marriage. And because his endorsement of it came right in the middle of a presidential election year. Before that polls showed that the issue of gay marriage wallowed at the bottom of the list of issues that worry voters the most. The runaway leader is jobs and the economy. The handful of black ministers that rushed again to quote Bible verses to denounce gay marriage were careful not to connect the dots from that to any vote against or even coolness toward Obama in November.
He also notes a Pew poll that shows blacks' opposition to same-sex marriage has plunged from 63 percent to 49 percent in just four years.
Look, I don't care how many times you say black Christians "seem divided" (especially when you follow it with an unattributed quote)—put up the numbers or shut up.
It is what it is. As long as they wreck their own communities and leave mine alone, I don't care anymore.
There is very little Obama could do to get the racist black voters to vote for Romney. However, there is a LOT he could do to cause them to just not bother to vote. The homosexual marriage endorsement is one of them.

As a people who march in lock step with the democrat party, we cannot afford such freedom of thought. It is our hope that conversations on strengthening African American families continue (if it is Dear Leader’s will, Praise Dear Leader) in a civil and respectful way, on all sides, both with those who support the ability of same-sex couples to marry, and those who do not. Of course those who disagree with Dear Leader are wrong and must be ostracized from the community until they see that same-sex marriage is the divine will of Dear Leader.

For me it's "homosexual" or the homosexual approved term, "Queer".
It's the other 90% stuck in groupthink I don't respect.

Where I’m originally from, the term gay in and of itself was an insult. There aren’t going to be gay pride parades in Roscommon anytime soon.

So many will vote for Maobama because of the color of his skin regardless of where he stands on the issues.

One of the saddest things for me in 2008 was when we heard the things that Jeremiah Wright was saying in his “church” and Blacks went onto the talk radio shows wondering what the big deal was because they said that’s just what a Black “church” IS.
I have wanted to believe good about Blacks. The Blacks I have known have been just normal people and it hasn’t been hard for me to think that skin color really doesn’t matter. But 2008 was a very, very rude awakening.
I think I’ve spent half my time in disbelief and the other half grieving the loss of what I thought we had in America. Right now I feel like at any moment we could lose anything and everything. If we blink the Supreme Court will be gone. Turn our heads for a moment and there won’t be elections. Wake up one morning and find the states don’t exist any more. Any day the government could decide they want our house and that’ll just be that. If anything I say gets to enough people Homeland Security might come haul me off to Gitmo with no explanation and nothing my family could do about it. Etc.
I feel like I’ve lost everything. But finding out that the good people of America really aren’t.... is one of the hardest things of all. I wanted to believe that Blacks are my brothers and sisters, but it seems like about 90% of them really aren’t. 90% would choose Raila Odinga just because he’s Black.
That is a good point and one I raised last week, we may not see any votes going from Ozero to Romney BUT we could easily see a lack of turnout for his excellency among the religious blacks. IMO, everyone who voted for his excellency in 08 who does not vote this time around is like a half vote for Romney.
No matter how they spin this, it is not going to go well for his excellency.

Indeed, but I was thinking in the context of "I gotta sell you bruthas to rebuild my stash." and the Kool-Aid drinkers would STILL line up.
