Prepare to Survive Total Economic Collapse

The collapse will be a cycle. Its wise to be prepared for all the angles of possibilities .It will be survival of the fittest and most aware. That's exactly what's happening. Either be aware, prepare, survive, and thrive.. or stay in denial and eventually die on your knees. People have a choice. Most choose to stick their heads in the sand while keeping their lazy fat asses in the air. Most of em enjoy the raping.Avoid big cities and crowded places ,Buy food, water, a water purifier, guns and ammo. You will need medical supplies, vitamins and ibuprofen. Power will be an issue. No power? No toilet. You need power for water in the city and if you have a well. When the food and water has run out in the houses and the stores are closed and empty, the people will be in the streets. You DO NOT want to be one of them.

Dog meat is a great source of lean protein.

Not going to happen. The Zombie Apocalypse is more likely.

Yeah, we have been hearing that since 1998. Whatever. If the sh1t comes down, ya’ll will never find me anyway. I sure as shooting won’t be holed up in a house waiting for the end. They’ll have to hunt me.

Must defeat Obama!!

Agreed!

Unfortunately, the economic collapse is pretty much inevitable regardless. However, the government may be somewhat less of an enemy without Zero at the helm.

Still, best to keep in mind that no matter who occupies the WH, in a collapse the government is NOT going to be on the side of the people and it will not protect us.

Mr. RightField and I had lunch at this restaurant (Dookey Chase in New Orleans) last year. On the way out, we saw this picture (sans the dog, of course) hanging above the doorway. We realized we had been sitting at that exact table, and Mr. RightField had been in the same seat as Obama. It was enough to make us want to upchuck the meal.

“I had lunch at this restaurant (Dookey Chase in New Orleans)”

Good for you. Too bad your meal was spoiled by the image of Glorious Leader.

I had a conference in New Orleans before Katrina. The Cajun food is fantastic. Oyster sandwiches called Poor Boys. Wonderful sauces and the Gumbo. Wow.

Honestly, if it is that bad, even prepared people will not last very long. They will be targeted by one group or another. If they have a bunch of people together so they have some numbers, personalities can still pose problems. Ifyou have supplies it will get out. Military may decide to re-stock on your 10-20. Injuries received will not allow you to keep fighting like in the movies where you can still keep moving and using your injured leg or arm very long.

All it takes is a blade or bullet to ruin years of prep. Bugging out has the same problems. You are a target in a vehicle and someone can reach out and touch you from a long way away. Ambushes on bridges, high fields, gullies, etc. If you’re a stranger in the area you’ve got nothing personal to stop them from relieving you of your gear.

8 days without power during an ice storm in 2008 made me a believer

Although not affected by that ice storm that is exactly what got my butt in gear.

Could happen before November.

I don't think it matters who wins at this point.

“I got plenty of ibuprofren.”

AND vitamins. Don’t want to face TOTAL ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COLLAPSE without a good supply of One a Day tablets!

I hear that vitamin C is great at driving away aggressive Zombies.

You know what, if it’s that bad I’d just as soon be dead

That is simply a lame excuse for not taking care of business. Let me tell you why I say that...

Sure, some tough times could be coming for which a person needs to prepare to survive. But nobody knows how long those times are going to last - it may only be for six months or a year. And, once it's come and gone things might start to get better than ever (for those who survive).

So, you want to "be dead" rather than endure a few months of hardship that our forebearers might have considered a cakewalk? You want to "be dead" when other folks you care about might need you later?

I guess there's a million excuses not to do the due diligence necessary to get through tough times - but yours is not in the top 10 list.

Let me give you a better excuse ... how about "I'm not preparing because I don't think the crap will ever hit the fan"...or, "I'm certain the government will take care of me.". Try these on for size, they are much better. :)

It was a wonderful lunch, really. When Mr. RightField's uncle was living, he had had a passing acquaintance with Dooky. We saw Dooky sitting in the bar on our way out, so we stopped to introduce ourselves. It was sad to hear him talk eloquently about Obama, and about how Obama was going to give all this free money to businesses and people like himself. Dooky said we all have to be patient, and give Obama time to make the world a better place.

My husband listened politely and thanked Dooky for the grand lunch we had. There was no point in talking politics.

But, for the food and ambiance, we will definitely go there again when we are in NO.
