That reminds me of this:

ETL, I had read much of this during the last election and tried to educate the people around me. They accused me of being an idiot, a right-wing wacko, conspiracy theorist, etc. And then, they voted for him! This time around, I think the same people who were aware of his shady past before will still be the primary ones aware of it now. The vast majority of the voters in this country continue watching the Kardashians, American Idol, Walking Dead, and get their news from Jon Stewart, MSNBC and SNL. Even when the truth is shoved in their faces, they won’t believe it. We’re doomed.
When trying to explain Obama’s shady past, or what we know of it anyway... was told by my cousin “If that is true, why don’t I see it on the news. You are just getting crazy stuff off the internet.”
I gave up at that point.

My liberal friends said the same kinds of things. They acted like I was reading one crazy dude on the Internet with the crazy rumors I came up with. Obama a communist. Obama gay.
When I told one Edwards voter that he was having an affair and knocked up the chick, she excoriated me in an email with “John Edwards would NEVER do that! His wife is dying of cancer! He is very dedicated to helping people! “ Bla bla bla. You can picture my Cheshire cat smile when he was busted. Just crazy conspiracies online, huh??
