Stand with the 8% – Down Syndrome Babies Who Weren’t Aborted
Patheos ^ | 5-15-2012 | Bristol Palin

Posted on 05/15/2012 7:59:12 AM PDT by palin45potus

In the United States, would you believe ninety-two percent of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted before they get a chance to take a breath? When I hear this statistic, it makes me want to burst into tears.  I can’t imagine a world without Trig — he is the best brother!  (Okay, you’re not too bad either, Track!)

It’s crazy how in love with Trig we all are. When Tripp is acting up — which he does often! — I sometimes joke with my mom. “Hey, want to trade kids?” I laugh.

Willow and I always talk about how lovable Trig is, and how we’d take him over any so-called “normal” kid anyday! He’s way cooler than people with fewer chromosomes. I’d have a Down syndrome baby in a heartbeat, and I know anyone else would if they saw any sort of glimpse of how perfect my little brother is.

If 0bamacare becomes fully implemented,
some panel in some far off office will tell anyone who has a diagnosed Downs baby - “abort it or get no medical care for it ever”.

Wow. A wonderful perpective from a Palin family member.

You tell ‘em, Bristol.

I wish I had neighbors like the Palin family. Or the Cheney family...(I could go on...but you get the idea)

I believe that Trig is a big part of the left’s visceral hatred for Sarah Palin. In their minds, Trig should have been aborted. When the Palins were onstage at the 2008 convention, and it was obvious that Trig was a cherished member of the family, it threw their moral bankruptcy back in their faces. Seeing little Piper hold him and stroke his hair made them recoil in horror. Trig was a reminder to liberals that all life is precious.

The most heartwarming experience of my life was teaching golf to special needs athletes, many with Down Syndrome at Ivey Ranch GC in Thousand Palms, CA. The pure expression of joy is truly inspirational. The glow in my heart lingers years later.

I agree with you.

It was a tough intro that Bristolhad to endure, and she handled it about as well as anyone could expect, given the circumstances.

But since she’s moved back to Alaska, and is apparently in a healthy relationship with a guy from the area, who is a Carhartts and Steel-Toes type of guy, I think she’s really matured.

Good for Bristol, and a job well done by Todd and Sarah Palin in raising her right.

Bristol has a way with words and of course I agree with her. I’ve never met anyone with Downs that did not seem better than the average person.

Growing up in NY, I rarely saw a Down’s child.
Moving to GA, I was startled at how common they are.
I think I’ll stay in GA. They value life here.

We have friends who have a 19 year old daughter with Down Syndrome. She will graduate high school in 3 weeks. She is an amazing young woman.

I’ve known a number of people with Down’s Syndrome—children, teenagers, young adults. Several of them worked in the supermarkets, bringing the shopping carts back from the parking lot. There’s a couple of them who sit near me at Mass on Sundays.

Without exception they are beautiful people, always smiling, always kind and willing to help. There are always jobs they can do to earn their livings.

Family planning has Nazi roots. Who was better and contributed more to humanity, Hitler, or the inferior races he sent to the gas chambers?

We had a Downs baby over 40 years ago. He had many of the physical problems that Downs babies sometimes have. We weren’t rich; but we paid his medical bills just fine without Obamacare. He passed away after an abdominal surgery when he was just six weeks old. - The liberals can just kiss my a$$. - Life and death are not in the hands of the commies, as they will soon discover.

The Palins are a one family wreacking crew to everything the Liberals believe in as they represent everything we the silent “MAJORITY” believe in.

The contrast with Barack Obama, who wouldn’t want his daughters “punished with a baby” is striking.
