Keeling Pilaro is a 13-year old New York lad. And he’s a star athlete.
Not in football or baseball or basketball (or any other sport to which teen-age boys typically gravitate).
He plays girl’s field hockey.
And he dominates. In fact, as an eighth-grader last season, Keeling made all conference, after scoring 10 goals and assisting on 8 others. He was a man among girls.
That’s what prompted school officials inSuffolk County, N.Y.to consider whether to bar Keeling from suiting up for this year’s field hockey season.
“It’s a girls’ sport,” said the school section’s executive director. “When a boy plays, it leads the way for other male players to come in and take over.”
He is absolutely right. And, yet, a Suffolk County committee decided this week that Keeling can continue to whoop up on the girls.
Anyone who has followed the ongoing national debate about “gender equality” could see something like this coming.
For the insistence by radical feminists on a completely level playing field with men – with no respect to God-given gender differences – leads to the kind of game-changing policy made by Suffolk County.
Women can’t compete with men in sport. Guys have a decided physiological advantage. God built us bigger, stronger, faster.
Yet, feminist types continue to challenge the gender barrier in sports. And they attack men as sexist who prefer not to compete against women.
Like the Our Lady of Sorrows high school baseball team in Arizona. It forfeited the Arizona Charter Athletic Championship game rather than take the field against a 15-year-old girl playing for the opposing team.
“That’s ridiculous,” said Linda Maatz, director of public policy at the American Association of University Women. “Does she have cooties?”
Ha, ha.
Well, how would Maatz and other feminist types like it if male athletes started to follow Keeling Pilaro’s lead? They could kiss Title IX goodbye. They could say goodnight to the WTA, WNBA, LPGA and other women’s professional sports.
It would be the end of women’s sports as we know it. Male athletes would, indeed, come in and takeover. All that would be left for women would be such sports as synchronized swimming, ice skating and gymnastics.
I’m not saying that because I’m some sort of unrehabilitated male chauvinist.
It’s because I don’t want to see radical feminists, preaching their gospel of gender equality, destroy women’s sports.
Yes, but I don’t think they play on the same teams at that age.
Hope not.

If he’s a normal 13-year-old boy, he probably wouldn’t object.
Remember Bobby Riggs? He made women's tennis what it is today by putting on a show.
Women could never actually compete with men on a tennis court or most any other sport for that matter.
I might get in trouble for this but...A couple weeks ago I toured the GE jet engine plant in Wilmington, NC. As I marveled at the machinery and engineering I whispered to my host, “Men did this.” He knew exactly what I meant.
I love women but it was men that built this country. There was a time when men went out to build things, buildings, bridges, railroads and a lot of it was done to impress women and probably half of it would not have been accomplished if it were not for women. Notwithstanding, men did it.
Best chefs-men. Best authors-men. Best musicians-men. Best artists-men. Best doctors-men. Best scientists-men. Best mathematicians-men. Best athletes-men. Best engineers-men. Best architects-men. Best soldiers-men. etc. etc. etc.
The other thing that struck me during the tour was the attach on the achievers that is taking place in this country. And any attach on achievers is an attack on men.

Your ignorance of how this nation was built is enormous. Pioneer women did not hide inside the family cabins. They worked alongside their menfolk. No family farm or ranch could function without all family members pulling together.
I am very much not a feminist, and I pretty much agree with your paragraphs 1, 2 and 4. I have a bit of difficulty with your 3rd one.
In engineering/architecture/physics/math men tend to excel with a few notable exceptions. It is the way God designed you and it’s a good thing.
In artistic and verbal talents, I think we’re pretty equal -arguably in verbal, women have the edge, but often not the ego or ambition. Intuition/Multi-tasking/non-linear thinking are also a woman’s forte’ (and frustrating for the guys around us).
I’ll probably get in trouble too, for agreeing with some of what you said.

I agree with you, but men needed the help of women to build this country.
If you read Laura Ingalls Wilder, you could clearly see how the husband and wife worked together to feed, clothe, and protect the family.
The men may have brought the food back, but the women processed and preserved it. It is amazing what women did with raw food products. They used every bit, down to the tail of the pig.
Men planted and plowed, but the women and children also helped harvest and store the food. Men could not always hire help, thus the wife and her uterus and child producing capabilities were very useful. Mothers fed and cared for children, and if they were healthy and survived, they became the lifeblood of the farm.
I agree that the strength of men is unmatched, and that in today’s society, political correctness is a dumb attempt to equalize men and women.
But society in the “building” stages of America was very much dependent on the union of man and woman, and the health of the family. The man and woman had very defined roles that both were very important to sustaining the husband, wife, children, etc.
If women were of no consequence, why did pioneer men remarry so quickly if their wife died? Because while he was out conquering the world, he needed a helpmeet to care for his offspring, make his clothing, preserve his harvest bounty, etc.
I can see part of your argument, as men who worked on the railroad, logging camps, etc, often did not have the ability to keep their family with them.
Soldiers who fought the Indians in the early days of America came out alone, and their women stayed in
safer areas. But as America grew, women settled with their husbands.
There are things that men do well, and things women do well. I fully agree that the brute strength and power of men built America, but the women who lived with them and cared for their families were not reclining on a veranda somewhere with palm leaves being waved over them whilst they sipped iced tea.
While, I guess the divide between the US and Europe is even deeper than I thought.
We have 2 teen boys. They would NEVER play sports of a team for girls.
And I can’t think of a single one of their friends that would, either.
