Need a job?

ust some helpful guidance for my listeners. If you are looking for a job and want to be taken seriously, I hope you don’t have a tattoo. If you do, get it removed. In fact, if you are looking for a job, the tattoo removal business is booming!

According to The Patient’s Guide, a website comprised of 25 niche publications dedicated to skin care, laser tattoo removal has increased 32 percent over the past year --- just the PAST YEAR -- with many citing employment as a main reason for the treatment.

Dr. Jen Mundt of Delete Tattoo Removal in Phoenix said she sees about 20 to 22 people a day looking to remove their tattoos for prospective jobs …

Mundt said her clients are primarily concerned with tattoos that are located on the wrist and neck.

The wrist and the neck, but what about ankle tattoos? Oh yeah … those are generally found on fat chicks, and they have trouble finding jobs for other reasons.

I run a daycare in my home. Business is really hurting.

Also even if your tattoo is not visible don’t post Face Book pictures of you taking or getting belly button shots at last weekends soiree.

Heck! I run a cat farming bidness. We never make a profit.

Cats are too damn hardheaded...but we never give up!

One day our bidness will catch on and we'll be ritch, bitch!

Why is business in your daycare hurting? Parents don’t want to bring their kids there ‘cause all the kids there have prison tats?
Now that is one tough daycare.

I am seeing more and more tattooed people. Too me, the tattoos are ugly and a blight but I say nothing. More and more of that ink is showing up on people in good businesses and front line customer interaction. It seems that ink is a point in favor of being hired.

Maybe I am biased against since I have a rather large and unsightly birthmark which I didn’t have a choice.

If/when I advertise for a stock model, my number one criteria is no visible ink. More and more seem to have them in recent years looking at OMP and Modelmayhem.

There is a high flake factor in this part of the world too.

You think a rooster is a hen?

I don't think that word means what you think it means!

I hear you. I think it is trashy. Saw a woman yesterday with tats. Of course she had a job. Found out she was a CPS worker. When I first saw her I thought she was another kind of worker.

Reading some of the comments at the original site is interesting.

Seems that some miss the point of the original author that having tattoos lessens one’s probability of being hired. This is a pragmatic or empiric observation.

They seemed to reason that the point was that it’s morally defensible to discriminate and not hire a tattooed applicant, or that the existence of one employed person with a tattoo overturns the author’s observation.

Kind of suggests to me a possible (weak) correlation of critical thinking issues with a predilection for defending one’ tattoos.

OK, I said weak! I didn’t mean you.

I rarely eat fast food anymore, but I was on the road, hungry, and McRonalds was the only game in town.

I walked in, noted the tat on the neck of the person taking orders, and walked right back out.

Stopped at a gas station for a Coke and some nabs.

My uncle's having some trouble with his cat farming venture. He's kind of new at it. Just how deep are you supposed to plant 'em?

Thinking of the people I know or have seen with tattoos, this is painfully accurate.

I was going to put up the bacon graph up just for the hell of it. But this would have turned into a terrorist thread.

A young aquaintance of mine got a very large tattoo of a dragon on her stomach. At the time I wondered if she had thought things all the way thru. But she proudly flaunted it to whoever would look.

She got pregnant and another friend asked if she could see her tattoo..at about eight months in. The reply was a glare and a loud NO!!”.

After delivery, same friend asked to see the tatt she had once so proudly flaunted...and got a one finger salute.

When this current fad become a thing of the past, there are going to be a lot of regrets. It’s not like long hair or even piercings that will grow back together.

Come to think of it, I may learn tatt removal for a retirement career.

How much of that do you think is due to unemployed becoming stay at home parents, and how much is due to the drop off in the birth rate since the Great Recession started 2007/2008?
