Yes, there are lies, damned lies, and then statistics..but this is just too, TOO good. Coincidence? Perhaps, but you be the judge.
INCREASE in Walker's margin: +47,000
***************************************************
DECLINE in Wisconsin AFSCME membership since Walker's reforms were passed: 35,000
DECLINE in WEAC (WI teachers union membership since Walker's reforms were passed) 9,500**
Note: WEAC will NOT release data on the number of WI teachers who have stopped paying dues. Indeed, on the WEAC website, there is NO mention whatsoever of the recall results. However, it seems reasonable to assume that the same percentage of WEAC members would opt out of their union as did that of AFSCME, (55%). Thus we arrive at the 9,500 number for lost WEAC membership. Indeed, WEAC has already laid off 40+% of its own staffers, so the number seems quite reasonable, as is likely even more.
TOTAL DECLINE IN WISCONSIN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES UNION MEMBERSHIP since Walker's reforms...............(44,500)
Hmmm..let's see now..DECLINE IN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE UNION MEMBERSHIP...44,500..INCREASE IN WALKER'S MARGIN OF VICTORY..47,000
YA THINK?????
OUTSTANDING!!!!!
List ping, if you please, gentle lady...
How'd they get away with that anyway? Imagine a state automatically deducting dues to support Walmart. How long do you think THAT would last?
Walker won 66 of the 99 assembly districts.
Walker won 23 of the 33 senate districts.
here are the numbers I’m puzzled by: 1 million supposedly signed the recall petition, but only 1.1 million voted for Barrett? So, the recall petitioning effort was so efficient it identified virtually everybody that would vote against Walker? That is absolutely stunning competence or a nasty manufactured deception.
They also cannot deny that many Dems voted for Walker. Per one article, 17% of Obama supporters, who said they would vote for Obama in November, voted for Walker.
It was a shellacking, just like 2010 was for the House.
They were afraid to say they won’t vote for obama.
All public skool teachers know they have it very well, much better than average private sector workers with no pensions, poorer healthcare plans and job security almost impossible to fire. To wit none have quit even with the very modest changes by Walker.
In my day the teacher would have you write 100 times "I will not talk in class". In Wisconsin they probably make them write a hundred names on a petition.
Wisconsin: Inside the Walker numbers ping
I, on the other hand, am a state employee who is delighted to not have to pay union dues anymore. :-)
The figures I saw were, they needed 1 mil signatures on the petition; got 1.1 mil. The vote count for Barrett was 1,158,377. That means they only added 58,377 voters to their camp beyond the number of petition signers.
Remember too, that the recall signature effort was during the winter. It's summer now, and all the little darlings at UW Madison and Milwaukee have dispersed. Signing the petition was easy - it came right to them, but I suspect voting was more effort than many cared to make.
It has just taken them months to sign up 122,000 in Maryland for a referendum on same sex marriage in Maryland, I suppose with a lot of Roman Catholic and other church activism (Of course , anyone signing that petition knows they are going to be put up in lights on all sorts of vengeance lists). I just think that Wisconsin process screams out for some sort of scrutiny.
But....**all** government teachers willingly seek a job in the godless and socialist-entitlement government schools that do the following. No one is holding a gun to their heads.
—Teach children to think and reason godlessly. The children must just to cooperate in the godless classroom. How could it be otherwise? So... The teachers may not be leftists but they are Useful Idiots.
— Willingly establish and cooperate with a socialist-entitlement system of schooling in which children risk learning to be comfortable with socialism. If children attend tuition-free schools, they risk learning that any voting mob powerful enough to give them tuition-free schooling is powerful enough to give them **LOTS** of “free” stuff. Yep! Some teachers may not be leftists but they are Useful Idiots.
— All government owned and run compulsory schools in many ways treat children ( whose only crime was being born) like prisoners. The state crushes their First Amendment Rights and those of their parents and the taxpayers. They are herded about like prisoners. The state dictates when and what they can eat, when they can speak, when they can rest, and when they must exercise. Most government schools look like prisons with prisoner exercise yards. Their transport resembles state prisoner transport. If a child **RATIONALLY *** rebels the state will resort to armed police and court action and even hard time with hard core prisoners. If true tyranny comes to the U.S. the oligarchy will not use cattle cars. They will use school buses and the sheeple will compliantly board just as they have been trained to do. Teachers who cooperate with this state indoctrination are Useful Idiots even if they do vote Republican.
Personally,.....I see government owned and run schooling to be so evil for the child, and such a threat to continuing freedom that I will NOT have a government school worker for a friend. They are too evil, too stupid, or too much of Useful Idiot to be a friend. ( I wouldn't have an abortion worker for a friend either. )
( Please, see tag line.)
They retired because they know how well they have it and want to max their retirement out before any more changes happen. Besides they can always get a teaching job somewhere else in the state if they want and collect retirement and a state paycheck and being retired, free healthcare, at the same time.
I would venture a guess there might be about a 90% correlation between the increase in votes and the decline in union membership. Members forced to join and pay dues would be quite appreciative of a Governor who allowed them to stop paying that extortion.
“Imagine a state automatically deducting dues to support Walmart.” Sssh, don’t give them any ideas.
How can you say that? Gaia is faithfully worshiped every day in many of these schools.
You should faithfully take your meds.
