what are hard assets?

Are those what are considered hard assets?

Matches, portable stove fuel, pump water filters, toilet paper, battery radio and extra batteries, hunting, fishing and self defense equipment, Long-lasting food like MREs or certain canned food. I am seeing canned salmon with sell-by dates 5 years out.
