Rep. Steve King to File Lawsuit to Block Obama’s Amnesty for 1 Million Illegals

Stand With Arizona

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) announced in a radio interview that he is planning to file suit to block Obama from bypassing Congress to implement his amnesty plan for 1 million (and possibly far more) illegal aliens.

King, the vice-chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration Policy and Enforcement, and a good friend of SWA, has been a stalwart opponent of illegal immigration and amnesty. King last year introduced the "Birthright Citizenship Act" (H.R. 140) which would adjust Federal immigration and naturalization guidelines to prevent the "anchor babies" of illegal aliens from obtaining American citizenship.

Today, on the Mike Huckabee Show, King said he would sue to stop the new Obama amnesty plan, and that he successfully sued his own state’s governor — and won — over a similar separation-of-powers issue.

“I will tell you that — I’m not without experience on this — I’m prepared to bring a suit and seek a court order to stop implementation of this policy,” King said “I have done it once in the past successfully when then-Governor Tom Vilsack thought he could legislate by executive order — and the case of King vs. Vilsack is in the books.
Huckabee followed up, asking King: “You plan to sue this administration for implementing something that you believe should have required legislative process and approval?” “That is correct,” King replied

Obama's order grants virtual amnesty to all illegal aliens who were "under the age of 16" when "brought here" illegally; who have resided here for 5 years; and who attended college or serve in the military. The media is parroting Administration talking point that this would affect "at most 800,000" individuals, but House GOP data shows this deals with well over 1 million illegal aliens.

And as we earlier noted, this figure is irrelevant if the criteria of the twice-defeated DREAM Act - which Obama has adapted - would permit new border crossers, those who came here from 17-35 years old, and those presenting phony documents, to apply for amnesty under this order, and would be granted an immediate stay of deportation. This stay could then be extended indefinitely by the DHS Secretary at her own discretion and NOT subject to Congressional approval.

As a result of these ridiculous lax rules, we will likely see an immediate rush to cross the border in order to obtain fraudulent "documents" and get in on the new Obama amnesty.

Indeed, one look at the DREAM Act Facebook page shows you they are already looking across the border...

Cynthia Vela Huete : Does anyone know if this will apply or benefit the ones that have been banned and have been in Mexico since banned in Cuidad Juarez??? Thanks
We also salute Rep. King for calling out Marco Rubio for his "DREAM Nightmare" alternative plan which has exposed Rubio as a rather naive and useful tool for Obama in his pimping of this shameless amnesty.

H/T to DailyCaller for the entire King-Huckabee exchange (Audio link here).

Exactly. And I don’t care what anyone says, they are getting financial help because they have children. They’re getting Section 8 help, and food stamps. And once you’re on these programs, you are instantly qualified for a myriad of other services.

In some schools they are getting free health work-ups, and now even dental.

I’ve got an add in my hand here that reveals that if you are on any of these programs, you instantly qualify for a FREE nice full screen phone with icons and such, and 250 minutes each month for $2.50.

Do you have any idea what my wife and I pay for that?????

Isn’t that the truth. I can tell you right now, this guy isn’t going to be popular with Hispanics over this either.

Whose jobs do illegal immigrants take disproportionately?

This is the man who should have been the head of the immigration committee but the little squirrel Boehner knocked it down.

der OberFuhrer (Emperor) Hussein 0bama I will do as he pleases. Neither congress, nor the courts, will stand in his way. In case you missed the announcement, he has declared himself dictator and enforces only those laws he sees fit.

It’s my take that we have between 20 and 35 million illegal immigrants in the United States.

In 1990, we cleaned up the mess, and there were very few illegals. In ten short years, we had 9 million illegals here.

In 2010, we were still being told that we had about 10 or 11 million illegals here.

If nine came over from 1990 to 2000, why should be believe only 1 or 2 million came over after that?

At least another ten million came over from 2000 to 2010. My take on it is that much more came over. We either have 25 million here right now, or we have already given them some form of work permits or amnesty.

We are getting screwed royally.

Photobucket The rule of law no longer matters. Dear Leader is above the law and the cowards in congress sit back and just collect their paychecks and backbacks. We must clean the capital of all the flith. It's time to vote them out and apply term limits.

A spokesman from FAIR was on the Howie Carr show in Boston. He said that 70% of illegals are under age 30, which is the cut off mark for this amnesty proposal. The Dems knew that they would be giving 70% of illegals permission to stay. Oh wait, then they will send for their relatives, that should bring it up to 100% of illegals. Then when they are made legal they can send for the rest of their many, many, many relatives who are still back in Mexico.

The open borders liars used to swear up and down that illegals could not get welfare. Well, then we learned about Obama’s Aunti Zentuni, who came from Kenya illegally and had no problem finding the welfare office that put her into a nice subsidized apartment in Boston.

I believe that many citizen Hispanics are sick of the takeover of their communities. They probably can’t say anything because some loud mouth relative will give them hell but they can keep their mouths shut and do their talking at the polling booth. Love that secret ballot!

Sorry but you are wrong. The Courts have ruled that individual members of Congress have no standing as when an attempt was made to challenge the Line-Item Veto Act. Only Congress as a “body” may have standing.

I’m sick and tired of the racists who think I should have funds stolen from me to pay for these freeloaders.

Isn’t it amazing Obama’s family, and how nobody addresses it for what it is.

Except, as I understand it, your vote isn’t secret anymore.

Wasn’t I reading here the other day about folks who are mining past voting information, and revealing how people voted?

There is a commercial that runs often here in Florida for that same cell phone program. I notice it only runs in the middle of the day (I’m a stay-at-home mom with two babies), so obviously targeting people not at work. It offers free phones with texting and several hundred minutes - but only if you are on welfare, food stamps, etc. What the heck kind of incentive is it to find legit work if you can stay unemployed and get freebies like this? My husband works long hours to try and keep our bills up; our phone bill is not cheap. But if we go on welfare, we get a free phone and texting?!

Around 1995, my wife and I were both working, bringing in a fairly decent income.

She was the manager of a volunteer office.

She had one couple who came in and they were on some sort of welfare to work program. She interviewed the new volunteers and these two freely spoke about what services they were getting from the government.

Housing
Food Stamps
Cash

There were more programs that I don’t remember now, but we added it all up, and they were actually pulling in the equivalent of more money than the both of us were. At that time we were bringing in more annually than 80 to 85% of the population were.

Folks have the idea that these people only get a hand up. No, they’ve got a hand up alright, and it’s chock full of goods, services, and cash. These two were actually artificially well off on your and our dime.

Yep, and he also lives in Massachusetts. He has a job at a liquor store but I don’t know if he gets any benefits. He was also arrested for drunken driving recently and I believe that it was not his first time. Howie Carr talks about illegal immigration all the time so hopefully the zombie voters of Massachusetts will begin to wake up since Gov. Deval Patrick is revealing his extreme illegal alien pandering.
