In a true end of the world scenario, every game animal in the lower 48 will be dead in a matter of a few months. Our ancestors damn near killed off every large animal in the country a hundred fifty years ago when there were a tenth as many of us and everyone was using black powder rifles. What do you think will happen with over a hundred million hunters foraging for ALL their meat with modern rifles? Living off the land is a pipe dream.

Probably right. My dad told me once what little deer they ever saw was eaten during the Depression. As long as the “collapse” reminds, I’m willing to bet there won’t be 100 million hunters. I guess if it continues, there’s always coons, possums, cats, dogs and crows—at least for awhile. Won’t the humane shelter people be surprised when their digs are turned into a buffet.
