What Will You Do AFTER the Collapse?
Preparedness Blog ^ | 6/26/12 | PamelaFarms

A lot of like-minded people who think a collapse is coming seem to have some pretty naive ideas as to what they will do after the collapse. They seem to think they’ll be able to pick up a rifle, head out into the woods, and live off the land. If that is your plan I urge you to try it now! Spend 7 days out in the wild bringing your gun, your bug-out bag, and anything else you plan to use to live off the land.

Chances are you won’t like it very much. We are really too used to our current level of technology and shy away from moving back to more “primitive” thinking. This has been a HUGE adjustment for my wife and I. We thought we were pretty tough but discovered that living the life we want is tougher. Every day we try new things and improve on them so when the time comes, we’ll be ready. Not just making “plans” but ready to go.

"Take whatever I need whenever I need it from Californians.

Well armed in a liberal area is the safest place to be and will be the easiest pickings."

While I don't have much sympathy for California libtards, taking from others is not a conservative principle. Maybe your post was sarcasm, but if not, your plan is to become part of the problem. Are you too lazy to prep for yourself, or just a natural thief? Maybe you're on the wrong blog.

Honduras is remarkably free. In fact, I feel far freer there than in the US. The Honduran government doesn’t feel it needs to control every move made by the Honduran people. Nor would the people let it if it wanted to.

Importantly, every elective office in Honduras is term limited. And the last guy who tried to overturn the term limits — the Marxist Zelaya — was impeached and escorted out of the country.

Not to boast, but if you want to know more about life in Central America, you might check out my website, CaribbeanLifeClub.com. Be sure to read the archives for The Daily Beckoning / Offshore Opportunities Report.

“In a true end of the world scenario, every game animal in the lower 48 will be dead in a matter of a few months. Our ancestors damn near killed off every large animal in the country a hundred fifty years ago when there were a tenth as many of us and everyone was using black powder rifles. What do you think will happen with over a hundred million hunters foraging for ALL their meat with modern rifles? Living off the land is a pipe dream.”

Probably right. My dad told me once what little deer they ever saw was eaten during the Depression. As long as the “collapse” reminds, I’m willing to bet there won’t be 100 million hunters. I guess if it continues, there’s always coons, possums, cats, dogs and crows—at least for awhile. Won’t the humane shelter people be surprised when their digs are turned into a buffet.

absolutely. Prepping for God should be #1 on any prepper’s list! Good to see it in the perspective you wrote to Jacquej about.

You can turn that REM song into a playful upbeat song on acoustic WTSHTF. You know the one. “It’s the End of the World as We Know It” Songs of apocolypse at that time might be a song for strength as opposed to despair.

Yes. In Zombieland, the young girl asks "Who's Bill Murray", prompting the Woody Harrelson character to say "I've never hit a kid, but...".

Sometimes my sense of humor is much too dry.

If Y2K wasn’t a problem then why did companies waste billions of dollars to upgrade systems and thousands of man hours on it?

Isn’t what you and so many that like to bring up T2K saying a lot like say the Weather service makes a river flood crest warning of 29 feet the leeve is only 28 feet so the National Gaurd, Corp of Engineers, residents and hundreds of voluteers spend days filling sand bags to raise the leeve to 30 feet they get it to 29 1/2 foot the river crest at 29 foot and the flooding is avoided. So now you make fun of the Weather service because there was no flood? There was no flood because there was a WARNING and people then heeded that warning and took action to prevent a disaster.

You are so right Kart. I spent the better part of 2 years preparing for Y2K - not storing food, but fixing computer systems. Tens of thosands like me did it too and the catastrophe was avoided. People who make fun of the Y2K threat are truly clueless and insult those who worked so hard to avoid disaster. The difference this time around is that SHTF can’t be fixed. It may be avoided if it’s God’s will, but there’s no hardware upgrades, bios fixes or software patches to innoculate you. If the day of reckonoing comes, and you haven’t prepared, best of luck.

Please add me to your prepper ping list.

Ask them not me.

They sure wasted a lot of money on hysteria...on something that never happened. In the end, Y2K was never a problem. It was in invention. It was pure hysteria.

Because they waisted money it made it true? But everyone can spend their money as they foolishly and stupidly as they wish. That’s not my problem.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Are you being factious or you are you just dense?

The reason Y2K didn’t cause problems was because systems were fixed and upgraded before there would have been trouble. We will never know how much trouble would have been caused by Y2K as it was not allowed to occur. Taking warning and heading off a disaster doesn’t mean the threat from the disater was real.

Why did this not affect other countries that didn’t give a dang because it was known to be pure hysteria?

Because they were stupid? No. Because they knew better. In the Americas, the only hysteria was localized in the U.S. I don’t know about Canada. But a lot of money was made from this nut stuff.
