You are so right Kart. I spent the better part of 2 years preparing for Y2K - not storing food, but fixing computer systems. Tens of thosands like me did it too and the catastrophe was avoided. People who make fun of the Y2K threat are truly clueless and insult those who worked so hard to avoid disaster. The difference this time around is that SHTF can’t be fixed. It may be avoided if it’s God’s will, but there’s no hardware upgrades, bios fixes or software patches to innoculate you. If the day of reckonoing comes, and you haven’t prepared, best of luck.

Why did this not affect other countries that didn’t give a dang because it was known to be pure hysteria?
Because they were stupid? No. Because they knew better. In the Americas, the only hysteria was localized in the U.S. I don’t know about Canada. But a lot of money was made from this nut stuff.
i am in IT too. i spent a year analyzing code and testing it. hundred thousand lines of code and i found one instsnce of a problem where yhe acctg system would have been passed 1900 instead of 2000.
