Bit of trivia. It was McCullough's son who delivered the commencement speech recently and told the graduates they were NOT special, and the world did not owe them anything.

Yep .. and very few remarked that those right-on
comments were made by the great man’s son. Curious ..?
Not in this perverse media derangement.

My favorite scene was when John Adams left the White House as his term expired and boarded a public carriage like any other citizen.

My favorite part was when Mrs. Adams gave herself and her children the primitive small pox vaccine.

My favorite scene was when the colonials (with a cameo by John Paul Jones) tarred and feathered the limey ass-kisser who reported to the British governor about taxes.
I wish we could do that to our politicians today.

I’m in the dumps today, need a swift kick to re-energize.reload.
I bought this series a few months back. Started watching it and fell asleep. The next day I put it away. Maybe the timing wasn’t right.
Today is the perfect day to watch it.
Thank you Starwise for this reminder.

My uncle gave me DVDs of the series; excellent stuff. It quite portrayed Adams as a man driven by a very black-and-white, right/wrong, just/unjust worldview. (Something I find myself accused of.) I think it would be a better place if more ascribed to that sort of thought, and moreover that that sort of thought produced positive action.

You’re not alone ... ;)
And you’re welcome.
I always remind myself of this:

The best HBO series EVER!!!!

My favorite scene is when George Washington gives a speech after being elected and some people in the crowd could hardly hear him. It gave me the impression that GW was a humble man and not a loudmouth braggart.
