I bought a pair of Game Ears from Cabelas, about $40 for two earpieces. They make for a temporary hearing aid, not in the league of $5,000 hearing aids with all the bells and whistles but they definitely help.

I just bought some new "invisible" hearing aids and they are fairly remarkable, not just for their size and comfort, but for what they gave back.
For the first time in a very long time, I can hear what you're saying if I close my eyes, even whispers. I'm listening to and playing music again.
This time, they're worth the money. It's hard to get my head around what all I've been missing.
