Here are just a few of the things I miss since America entered the golden age of Hope and Change in January 2009.
o Optimism
o Going for minutes, hours, even days, without worrying about what weird insanity the government is dreaming up next
o Having money
o The Border Patrol
o Looking up at the moon and thinking, "America - we own space!"
o Having a president whose background isn't more closely guarded than the formula for Coke
o Going on vacation without the TSA auditioning me for "Stella Does Dallas"
o Jobs
o Not feeling like I have to whisper, if I say something that's not completely, 100% complimentary about our president

- An America that didn’t feel like a cross between the Middle East and Europe.
What I miss about America.
Riding a bicyle without a helmet.
Going to the snack machine at school and buying a Hershey bar.
Watching a little league game and actually seeing a winning team.
Firework shows on the 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, and most of August.
Reading, Writing and Arithmetic.
Simply put, I miss my freedom, and my privacy.
I miss an America that was optimistic and driven by the free market.
I miss an America that was created for the public servants to be just that - servants, not kings and queens. We are now their subjects instead of their employers.
We in America no longer live in a free country at all. We have been slaves to the government for six months of each year for a long time now. With the transformation of America under Obama, that slavery is now complete. Most of us now owe to the government more than we bring in, and if we are unable to pay, they can seize our property, rob us of our dignity, and put us on the government dole that half the country is already accepting.
Like the author, I miss my freedom of speech. Unpopular speech is now actually physically dangerous in today’s America.
I miss due process.
I miss having a patriotic and diligent press that was more interested in supporting our country and digging to find the truth than spreading rumors, ruining lives of average citizens, and pushing political ideologies.
Yep. Instead of its former place as the Shining City On a Hill, America has deteriorated into a seedy housing project in the 'hood.
