Going to the Extreme: Euro-Preppers Get Ready for the Worst
SHTF Plan ^ | 7/18/20 | Mac Slavo

Posted on 07/18/2012 4:12:44 PM PDT by Kartographer

It’s not just in the USA that a growing number of people are preparing for far-from-equilibrium scenarios resulting from economic or geo-political collapse.

Many Europeans have also taken note of the troubling signs all around them. In the following report, RT visits a man who wished to keep his name and location anonymous. Like many Americans, he is preparing for all hell to break loose and has spent the last few years gearing up his home and supplies for the worst.

Like most preppers and survivalist, he has modified his lifestyle to become more self reliant and less dependent on the grid and existing government infrastructure.

In addition to generating two thirds of his current energy consumption with wind and solar power, he grows his own food and raises cattle to supplement his diet in the event grocery stores run out of food or prices get so expensive in Euros that no one can afford to buy it.

As is this case for many of his like-minded counterparts in the United States, for this Euro prepper it’s not a matter of “if” the collapse happens – it’s only a matter of when. And when “when” finally happens, he’ll be ready for it.

This is real, it’s happening right now, and it’s coming to America in due time.

Yes this is all to real and so many just don’t get how REAL it’s going to be. Of course I hope that I am wrong and somehow the world’s economy does not crash and burns, but face it the piper will have to be paid! We might not fall as far or as hard as many countries, but I believe a fall of some kind is inevitable.

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become thier‘serf’. Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

Now anyone thinking that prepping is foolish ask you what’s easier telling your children and loved ones why you prepared or explaining to them why you didn’t?

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

But then someone has to stand on the bridge waiting for FEMA to bring them a bottle of water, an MRE and a warm blanket so as to provide the Network Anchors their background ‘Money Shot’. I wonder how that will workout for them?

Face it we’ve kicked the financial can so far down the road that we are running out of road and the can which was once the size of a soda can is now the size of an oil drum (Try kicking that!)

For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpfull. You can download it at:

http://tomeaker.com/kart/Preparedness1j.pdf

NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Or as the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

Lastly this for the doubters and the scoffers.

“There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger.

Underestimation can be fatal.”

To make matters worse the United states is in a drought and our corn crops are drying up, the farmers are selling off their livestock and look for food prices to rise.

We HAVE o stop using corn forethanol now, if the crops fail it would be insane to make fuel with food, not that it wasn’t already.

We may soon understand what the remnants of the Roman Empire went through in the 5th Century.

One difference is that Islamic barbarians, rather than Germans stand to fill the void.

Doesn’t matter: The strains of corn used for ethanol production are not suitable either for cattle feed OR human consumption. Not that you COULDN’T eat it in a pinch, but it wouldn’t be terribly good. . .

” You don’t think volk in Austria and Switzerland are getting ready for the wurst, too? “

Hey - my two years of High School German were decades (and decades) ago — I’m just impressed that I remembered enough to come up with the rotten pun...

;)

I see the “perfect storm” in the making. With the food supply dropping due to the drought and food prices set to soar next year because we won’t have enough, couple that with an economic crash, and there it is - the perfect storm.

These years we have been prepping, we didn’t, at least I didn’t, add in not enough food able to be grown.

Last year, nothing grew in Texas and cattle were being sold off. We had no rain that spring or all summer. We’ve had rain this year but one can’t quickly undo the damage that happened last year.

It’s pretty bad when the US agriculture commissioner stated today that people should buy canned goods now because they were going up next year. That is when the shortage will hit. So, I’ll buy more now.

I just see this huge disaster happening faster and faster - what’s next?

Anyone who DOESN’T see that 0bama has been INTENTIONALLY trying to crash our economy for nearly the last 4 years.. IS A FOOL. The trick is, doing it in such a way that the frog placed in water set to boil doesn’t notice it. The water is getting hot and we’re in the fidgety stage.

And the land and water used to grow ethanol corn can't be used to grow human-food corn?

Not **THIS** year. . .which was my point. If most of the dead corn is destined for ethanol. . .no biggie. If it’s eating or feed corn. . .much bigger impact.
