What I learned About America Working a TX Voting Location: I'm A Patriot and a Racist Apparently

I did something I've never done before.  I "worked the polls" for Ted Cruz.  It was funny, fascinating and frightening.  I was called a racist and a patriot; I witness joy and anger; and I learned some very valuable lessons about myself and this county. I now see why listening to your friends and reading the blogs is no substitute for “getting on the ground.”  In Texas, there is a revolution brewing.

My election efforts, for most of my life, have been limited to being a political junky when time allows, and cramming for my congressional, judicial, city, county and school office elections in the car on my way to the polling place.  And most likely from a Christian Coalition endorsement ballot or exactly opposite of whomever the local liberal rag endorses.

This year, however, things are different.  Our country has incurred more debt in the past three years than nearly all the 222 preceding years COMBINED.  This has the effect of sucking all that cash out of the economy and leaving historic numbers of eligible workers unemployed.  The biggest tax increase in our country’s history is on the way as sputter from 1.5% growth last quarter toward recession.  Our media and elected officials are too fearful or cowardly to prosecute evidence of wrongdoing in government and among crony capitalists.  Who ever would have thought, our government would be attempting to take guns away from citizens while arming drug lords; and then cowardly refusing to come clean in the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Thank you!! for helping with Ted Cruz and for being in the trenches of our Texas and USA conservative revolution.

Next Tuesday’s results will be most telling on whether the Texas GOPe will maintain their hold with cronyism and are able to fool enough of the runoff voters into thinking Dewhurst has our best interests in mind.

I have to say the publications mailed to my house from Dewhurst are pretty compelling against Cruz. One thing that got me re-thinking is the fact that Dewhurst served in the military and Cruz did not.

I always knew when I voted before that more homework should have gone into my decisions. But, today it is so much worse because we can’t trust what we read or hear anymore. Even if I simply pray for the guidance, I still need the discernment to determine that guidance. Very scary times indeed!

I just moved to TX and have registered to vote, but I haven’t had much time to get to know anything about the candidates. I know Sarah endorsed Cruz so that’s a plus, but can you tell me anything more about the two?

Too bad, if you did not vote in the Primary you can not vote in the runoff. Cruz, common sense and conservatism could use the vote.

Regarding the Senate runoff candidates, basically Dewhurst is part of a shadowy GOPe who are not much for getting out in the politcal sunshine. Sort of a real working Good Old Boys Club. Now that is not to say that this group and Dewhurt are not miles above the Yeller Dog Democrats, with the likes of LBJ, that ran Texas since Reconstruction until the GOP finally returned.

Cruz is more of a Tea Party conservative and has the true conservative endorsers. He may not be “just like us” but he’s probably as close as we may ever come and hopefully is the leading edge of a true conservative revolution that could actually take back America from the left and the RINOs.

Watch the differences between the ads from Dewhurst and Cruz, who sounds and tastes like dirty politics? Dewhurst is desparate. Dewhurst thought he had it in the bag, it was his turn and Cruz and us threw a big monkey wrench in that plan when Cruz made the runoff.

Jeremiah Wright served in the military but I wouldn’t vote for him either. Cruz has defended our constitution a number of times and won for us.

Absolutely not true. Any registered voter can vote in the runoff. Where did you lay ahold of that little piece of misinformation?

Yes you can vote in the runoff even if you did not vote in the primary.

Dewhurst has had many, many years to take care of the problems of illegal voters, open borders, sanctuary cities and excessive taxes and he has done nothing. But it goes to issues beyond this election. IMO we already have two RINO’s in the presence of Hutchison and Cornyn. It’s time we had at least one Conservative Senator who votes with his constituents. We need to send a message to Cornyn that he’s the next one to go. We need to make sure that Austin hears us too.

That is why our family all voted for Cruz.

When the runoff was announced our local Tyler TV reported if you did not vote in GOP Primary, you could not vote in GOP Runoff.

I just looked it up on VoteTexas.gov and you are correct, but the State’s way of saying it makes it easy to misunderstand.
