BREAKING NEWS: Romney just named Paul Ryan as his Vice Presidential nominee

Yeah -- THAT Paul Ryan. The architect of the Republican plan to kill Medicare.

But here's the thing: in a poll this week, only 46% of Americans even had an opinion of Ryan (38% had never heard of him). These next hours are critical. We need to contact key voters immediately and make sure they know about the Romney-Ryan plan to put millionaire tax cuts over Medicare for seniors.

We might not be able to out-spend Romney and the Koch Brothers but we have to reach every last voter we can. Chip in $3 or more to help us back up President Obama with a Democratic majority:

Kill Medicare? The provisions of Obamacare had already put Medicare on a death sentence, by essentially STEALING all their trust fund and future contributions made on its behalf, to help fund a misguided effort to give “affordable” health care to those who have not and perhaps never shall contribute one whit to their own health costs.

The Ryan plan was meant to RESTORE the funds already previously dedicated to Medicare, and to expand its revenue to the point of sustainability (or is “sustainability” now a bad word?)

The Fed expends 900 billion a year on medicaid/medicare while collecting 100 billion annually thru the medicare portion of the FICA tax. That is a running 800 billion dollar annual deficit.Medicare is the bulk of our federal deficit. All else including social security pales to this mother of all entitlements. At least Ryan addresses the issue in his budget plan. The Dems should choke on their own demagoguery

As a result of Obamamedia spin I'll bet a substantial sum that most Medicare recipients don't know that. In fact the liberal spin (with the collusion of the AARP) has been so effective that most seasoned citizens think Obama has "saved" Medicare. They will be in for a rude shock later but by then the damage will have been done. That's why the ugly parts of Obamacare were deviously back-loaded to take place in the future, well after this election.

First of all, that is not how the vast majority of the public which is not reading Free Republic and can't stand Rush Limbaugh's style have and will hear it.

Second, your reference to the "trust fund" betrays your ignorance that there is no "trust fund" and the money has already been "stolen" and Obama is just stealing IOUs and it really doesn't matter what happens to them. SS & Medicare became bankrupt the moment annual outlays exceeded taxes several years ago. Since there is nothing in the trust funds and all other taxes are already spent, they are subsidized from China and the Federal Reserve's raiding of bank reserves. This will lead to complete economic ruin the moment those reserves are exhausted in another year or two if not right after the election.

Yes, we are on the verge of 1937 no matter who gets elected because all reserves are gone and the general public is entirely oblivious to the need for any action that changes what they are accustomed to.
