Bishop Calls on All Christians to Leave Democratic Party

8/20.2012

Charisma News Staff

Bishop E.W. Jackson is making a war cry: “Let God’s people go!”

Jackson, a Marine Corps veteran, graduate of Harvard Law School and adjunct professor of law, is echoing the words of Moses in a campaign to persuade Christians of all races that the time has come for a wholesale exodus of Christians from the Democrat Party.

The former candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia points to what he calls the Democrat party's “cult-like devotion” to abortion; the rejection of the traditional biblical model of family; the hostility hurled at those who express a Christian viewpoint such as Chick-fil-A president and Chief Operating Officer Dan Cathy; the actions of organizations such as the ACLU and the Foundation For Freedom From Religion in suing cities and towns for displaying crosses at memorials or mentioning the name Jesus in prayer at official events.

Beyond all of this, Jackson says, Democrat operatives are also attacking Gabrielle Douglas, the 16-year old black American who won the 2012 gold medal in gymnastics.

“The accomplished young lady had the nerve to give glory to God for her win,” Jackson says. “This apparently offended liberals.”

Case in point: Mary Elizabeth Williams, journalist for the progressive online magazine Salon.com, wrote, “I've often wondered what it is about Christians like Douglas that unnerves me so ... Douglas and her ilk seem to espouse a faith based on what is commonly referred to as 'The God of Parking Spaces.'”

Jackson, founder and president of STAND (Staying True to America's National Destiny), responds: “Progressives are indeed 'unnerved' by devout Christians. That's why they resort to ridicule, even of a 16-year-old Olympic medal winner. Williams says we worship 'The God of Parking Spaces,' but I would prefer Gabby's God of grace and kindness to the leftist's god of ridicule and persecution.

“Our Heavenly Father loves us and helps those who are humble enough to ask Him.”

Later this month when Democrats make same-sex marriage part of their official Party Platform, the former practicing attorney says they will be spitting in the face of every Bible-believing Christian in America: “They will be saying, 'We don't care what you think, what you believe, or what the Bible or the God of the Bible says. We know better than God.'”

Jackson's message to Christians is, “The Democrat Party has turned its back on Christians. It is time to turn our backs on the Democrat Party.”

He will never get Christians that are on Government payroll or getting Government handouts to give them up. Those will never, in spite of Christian beliefs, ever give up the Democratic Party. The Democratic party are not Marxist but pure communists.

It looks like he is independent with a Baptist background? Plus he's a former Marine, with a law degree and divinity degree from Harvard!

Bishop E. W. Jackson, Sr. is author of the book, “TEN COMMANDMENTS TO AN EXTRAORDINARY LIFE – Making Your Dreams Come True” published in the summer of 2008. He is also Founder of Exodus Faith Ministries, a nondenominational ministry headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia with a satellite church in Boston, Massachusetts. He is originally from Chester, Pennsylvania. After three years in the U.S. Marine Corp, he attended the University of Massachusetts (Boston), graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B. A. in 1975. He finished college in three years, and was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa Key.

A 1978 graduate of Harvard Law School, he also studied theology at Harvard Divinity School and was licensed to preach by Ebenezer Baptist Church in Boston. Shortly after graduating from law school he became a tax associate at Coopers & Lybrand, and later a Deputy Commissioner of Banks for Massachusetts. He then served three years as Executive Director of the West Medford Community Center, a Human Service Agency. A gifted communicator, Bishop Jackson was a panelist on “Topic Religion”, Boston’s longest running religious radio talk show, a full time co-host for “Jackson & Jurkowitz” on Boston’s WHDH radio and host of a daily nationally syndicated program on Radio America.

During his career in Boston, he practiced law for 15 years and started Boston’s first and only all-gospel radio station. In 1996, he left law practice and radio to lead “The Samaritan Project”, a national outreach and racial reconciliation effort which distributed $500,000 to churches victimized by arson. In recognition of his national leadership, he was consecrated a Bishop on June 28, 1998 and moved to Chesapeake, Virginia to plant another church and establish the headquarters for Exodus Faith Ministries, Int’l.

Bishop Jackson served five years both as a minister for the Boston Red Sox Chapel services, and protestant Chaplain for the Boston Fire Department. He has taught Administrative Law at Northeastern University and business and commercial law at Strayer University in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia.

He and his wife are the founders of the Chesapeake MLK Leadership Breakfast which brings together hundreds people from the greater Chesapeake area to celebrate the life and ideals of Dr. King. They are also the founders of Youth With A Destiny, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping youth avoid gangs, drugs and violence through faith, education and positive activities.

He presently serves as a member of the Chesapeake Police Advisory Board, Commissioner on the South Norfolk Revitalization Commission and a Trustee of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.

Bishop Jackson’s media appearances include CNN’s Talk Back Live, ABC's Good Morning America, ABC's Politically Incorrect, Hardball with Chris Matthews, C-Span’s Washington Journal, National Public Radio, Janet Parshall’s America. He also hosts his own radio program on WYRM AM 1110 in Norfolk, which can be geared around the world on the internet. His editorial page contributions have appeared in newspapers around the country. His work has been reported by the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times and many other publications. He is often requested as a guest speaker for churches and other organizations.

He may be contacted for speaking engagements and book signings at 1-866-573-0772; through his administrative assistant at 757-214-9053 or by emailing him at exfmn@exfmn.org. His website is www.bishopjacksonministries.org

Bishop Jackson and his wife Theodora reside in Chesapeake, Virginia.

He is so right... we Christians get caught in all kinds of catch-22’s when we support one party over another or one politician over another. But on this one point there is no gray middle, there is no catch-22. You’re either in support of gay marriage or you’re not... As true believers in Christ, we do tolerate, but we don’t support... that is the key. God tolerates all sinners now, but there is no room for them in His kingdom unless they confess their sin and acknowledge Him as God and Savior...

They only pray when convenient? “God give me a place to park. Yes!”

It’s an odd description. Point is clear: The smart set (we at Salon) look down on Christians. Of course, they’re the first to speak up when Muslims are in any way offended.

He should be a speaker at the upcoming convention - he is that good.

Indeed. One non-white Conservative after another speaking... it might finally sink in to the Plantation Voters.

Yes, the God Of Lost Car Keys. Little gods.

Our God is bigger than that.

Isaiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Democrat and Christian are mutually exclusive terms. It is way past time to recognize that.

God bless Bishop Jackson

Most Democrats are nowhere near as radical as their leadership.

For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to good they have no knowledge. Jer 4:22 KJV

O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. Jer 5:3 KJV

Some earlier morning reading that seemed pertinent.

Of course our God is the “God of parking spaces”. He is the God of everything. Silly leftists don’t realize that and that is the root of society’s problems.

POST OF THE DAY ! ! !

"Mr. Jackson is spot on: membership in, affiliation with, or support for the party of abortion, faggotry and socialism is completely incompatible with a claim to be Christian."

What they mean by it, is that your God is so small that all you "use" Him for is to find you a parking space, i.e. you are petty and self-centered and so is your conception of God: God please make my team win, God please make my number come up, God help me find my car keys, etc.

Just more ridicule from people who haven't got a prayer, and moreover, haven't got a clue.
