Akin: Hyenas in the GOP ignore medical science, eat their own
Rightly Concered Blog on American Family Association ^ | 8/22/2012 | Bryan Fischer

Posted on 08/22/2012 7:43:13 PM PDT by JediJones

The slavering, slobbering hyenas in the Republican party, by tearing at the flesh of their own senatorial candidate Todd Akin, are doing their best to blow their shot at taking control of the Senate. By eating their own, they are consuming themselves. And they seem too brainless to know it.

If he loses this race, it will be the fault of party poobahs, not Todd Akin. One of the party leaders actually suggested last night that the GOP try to run a third-party challenge to their own candidate. That would be a certifiably guaranteed way to forfeit victory to the opposition.

Akin’s words, for which he apologized even though he had no need to, were right. He was entirely correct to say that pregnancies in cases of forcible rape are rare.

He did not, by the way, say that pregnancy was impossible in rape, just rare.

How about the New York Times, the Bible of [left-wingers]? “Lowering Stress Improves Fertility Treatment.”

Said Dr. Domar, “If you’re really stressed out and depressed, the body seems to sense that’s not a good time to get pregnant.” Hmm. Sound suspiciously like the body shutting down, no?

Todd Akin uses one word that was grossly misinterpreted by his enemies, and the members of his own party throw his carcass to the jackals.

Now that Akin has decided to stay in...as he should, ignoring the hysterical bellows and the pitchforks, the ruling class Republicans will have to eat some crow and reverse themselves by resuming support for Akin’s candidacy. Certainly they cannot be so stupid as to commit hari-kiri by withholding help because they’re in some kind of snit. Can they?

The lesson from all of this: if you’re a Republican, and you want a friend in the party, you’d better buy a dog.

Women get pregnant all the time from rape. To pretend otherwise is being willfully stupid.

i am a physician of 25 years.
If the following is illustrative of your critical thinking skills then I pity your patients.

if you think a google search for stress miscarriage cortisol constitutes actual science , there is even less hope for you.
The links garnered from that individual search result contains the actual science.

I hope your patients are smart enough to drop you.

The Republican Platform position is for another Thread.
BS! It directly ties in to your assertions.

We are discussing Akin being an idiot by risking our chance to retake the Senate and kill Obama

No, that's the picture you're trying to paint.

Kind of "over the top" there with those last two words, aren't you?
Men in Black may very well come knocking on your door over that comment.

“He was entirely correct to say that pregnancies in cases of forcible rape are rare.”

Would that be because many women get abortions in such cases?

very well thought out points.
I suppose you are a Phd.
lets see googling stress miscarriage cortisol
now that is a peer reviewed scientific journal. Probably beyond your level of comprehension because they will list anything related to those three words.
Miscarriage. why not conception?
So , the magic uterus causes miscarriage but doesn’t block conception. OK . why not put in rape. If stress can cause miscarriage and rape is stressful than rape causes miscarriage and we don’t need a multi centered double blind study (also likely way above your head)
what is stress/ rape is stressful , traffic is stressful, war is stressful , poverty is stressful. Some stresses are acute some are chronic , but hey lets lump them all together so we can advance the narrative.
can you find one peer reviewed study showing that rape prevents conception?
try googling that and try google scholar ( likely new to you). and this time use the word rape .

Who is saying that they don't get pregnant?

The question is...Can a woman's body, even if they don't know they're pregnant from the rape, react in such a manner that they never end up giving birth?
For instance...Can a hormonal imbalance cause her to never even carry past the first couple of days?

Sorry Phil, I missed your response.

First point - I revised the word “LOSS” to the word “DEFICIT” in a later Post to you.

Second point - I got that figure from a Poll listed by another FReeper on another Thread a day or two ago. If I can locate the Post, I will send you a copy.

Additional point - Akin is in trouble and we all know it. Some are blaming him alone for causing the turnaround (people like me), and others are blaming the Conservatives / Republicans who criticized Akin after the fact.

Had Akin not brought RAPE into the conversation, we would all be discussing Obama and Biden, not the possibility of losing our chance to regain the Senate and end Obamacare.
The people criticizing Akin didn't do that, Akin did that all by his lonesome. He stayed in and the die is cast.

Oh, I see. I have to have a Phd to even speak to you. Rather arrogant of you, wouldn't you say?

You're the Phd. Pony one up that says it doesn't.

Provide your evidence. Substantiate your assertion.

No, the real question is “Why is this topic being discussed when it bears no relevancy to whether abortion in immoral in the cases of pregnancy by rape”?

The answer: because of an idiot politician who stupidly decided they were related and brought it up.

OMG! How obtuse are you? Did you even listen to the interview?

He was asked a question about rape!

Charles Jaco:
Okay, so if an abortion can be considered in the case of, say, tubal pregnancy or something like that, what about in the case of rape? Should it be legal or not?

Wasn't it Jaco that brought rape into the conversation?

and statutory rape can also involve incest as well as older perpetrators grooming younger females

First of all, I will stick with my assertion. I am discussing Akin, not the Republican Platform that I first heard about earlier this evening. Since I haven't read it, and if it in fact it does not have exceptions for Rape and Incest, it might be another Campaign issue if adopted at the Convention. Again, that is not the topic of this Thread.

>”We are discussing Akin being an idiot by risking our chance to retake the Senate and kill Obama”<

I said “Kill Obamacare”. You shorten it to “Kill Obama” and then accuse me of being “over the top” for typing it?

WTF Phil? No need to get nasty and LIE about what I wrote. We disagree, big deal. Am I being disrespectful with you?

I see somebody else needs to read the transcript as to who brought up what.

Hint...Jaco. See reply #152.

i am a physician not a phd, but it seems you don’t understand the difference. It make sense given your obvious stupidity.
I mean the schmuck said he apologized and then you try with your limited knowledge to back up his original statement .

It doesn't matter if it "the topic of this Thread" as it directly relates to this thread and the comments within this thread.

I said “Kill Obamacare”. You shorten it to “Kill Obama” and then accuse me of being “over the top” for typing it?
Now you know how Akin must feel!

Well Phil, I stand corrected. The Idiot interviewing Akin said RAPE and the other Idiot Akin took the bait and ran with it.

Not ready for Prime Time, just as I said. He didn't have to get into his “theory” about the stress of forcible Rape inhibiting Conception. He did that all by his lonesome.

NOT READY FOR PRIMETIME, BUT READY ENOUGH TO KEEP HARRY REID IN CHARGE OF THE SENATE. Selfish egomaniac pure and simple. We may have to rename Obamacare “Akincare”.
