Akin: Hyenas in the GOP ignore medical science, eat their own
Rightly Concered Blog on American Family Association ^ | 8/22/2012 | Bryan Fischer

Posted on 08/22/2012 7:43:13 PM PDT by JediJones

The slavering, slobbering hyenas in the Republican party, by tearing at the flesh of their own senatorial candidate Todd Akin, are doing their best to blow their shot at taking control of the Senate. By eating their own, they are consuming themselves. And they seem too brainless to know it.

If he loses this race, it will be the fault of party poobahs, not Todd Akin. One of the party leaders actually suggested last night that the GOP try to run a third-party challenge to their own candidate. That would be a certifiably guaranteed way to forfeit victory to the opposition.

Akin’s words, for which he apologized even though he had no need to, were right. He was entirely correct to say that pregnancies in cases of forcible rape are rare.

He did not, by the way, say that pregnancy was impossible in rape, just rare.

How about the New York Times, the Bible of [left-wingers]? “Lowering Stress Improves Fertility Treatment.”

Said Dr. Domar, “If you’re really stressed out and depressed, the body seems to sense that’s not a good time to get pregnant.” Hmm. Sound suspiciously like the body shutting down, no?

Todd Akin uses one word that was grossly misinterpreted by his enemies, and the members of his own party throw his carcass to the jackals.

Now that Akin has decided to stay in...as he should, ignoring the hysterical bellows and the pitchforks, the ruling class Republicans will have to eat some crow and reverse themselves by resuming support for Akin’s candidacy. Certainly they cannot be so stupid as to commit hari-kiri by withholding help because they’re in some kind of snit. Can they?

The lesson from all of this: if you’re a Republican, and you want a friend in the party, you’d better buy a dog.

If they are trying to beat the republican, they are backing the Dem Socialist in the race. That would make them what?

A herd of sheep going over the cliff right where the Myth wants them.

The only thing people know about Todd Akin is he said something really dumb, of the kind of dumb that the Democrats and the actual liberal media really love to hear from Republicans and use to make other Republicans and conservatives, politicians, staffers, media folk and rank-and-filers alike miserable, especially during election campaigns...the guys on our side are extremely unhappy with Akin because of it. In short it’s not personal, it’s business.

Then where are the "businessmen" telling Romney to show us his tax returns now before they come out the week before the election and something horrible in them makes it into the media?

it might be at least minimally helpful in that regard to stop waving studies around and saying “He was right! He was right! See? See?” and talk about something else.

It helps to see that there was some basis and background for his statements, even if they weren't 100% correct.

If we’re now trying to stretch the terms “GOP Establishment” and “liberal media” far enough to include Sarah Palin, those terms have become entirely meaningless.

Palin is making herself meaningless by suggesting a third party run, a goofy strategy almost guaranteed to lose the seat. Unless there was some beloved, longtime Missouri superstar with massive name recognition, a 3rd party can't win the seat.

Akin has allowed himself to be the one who will be to blame if we lose the White House.

Before Akin's remark, Joe Biden's stupidity was on the front page of the news and if Romney were to lose in November we were able to blame the GOPe for forcing another RINO on us.

Akin has changed all of that. For you to claim that Akin is a "true conservative" is just as damaging to the pro-life, conservative movement as Rick Santorum claiming that Romney is a "true conservative".

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Thanks to Akin supporters, the GOPe is OFF the hook if there is an Obama victory in November.

Worse than all of that, Akin has hurt the pro-life movement.

Who is Akin?

He's become the Mark Foley of Election 2012

I claim that Akin is a “true conservative”? Where?

No, I only asked who is the person you referred to as ‘Akins’? The question stands.

What evidence do you have that Akin isn't a true conservative? I think his ACU rating is up around 97% or so.

do you want to kill the baby for that alleged “rape” in the back seat? Is that what you want?

this is the third thread (at least) where you have insinuated a woman who is pregnant from a rape is only "alleging" rape. It's getting really old.

Or is this what you're talking about?

Results of SurveyUSA Election Poll #19479 08/12/12
In the nationally watched race for U.S. Senator, which could help determine whether Republicans control the Senate, conservative Republican challenger Todd Akin is 11 points atop incumbent Democrat Claire McCaskill, 51% to 40%. Akin leads 7:1 among Tea party members. McCaskill holds 80% of the Democratic base, compared to Akin, who holds 91% of the Republican base. Independents favor the Republican by 16 points. Akin leads materially among the less educated; McCaskill ties Akin among college graduates. Akin leads among rich and poor voters. Akin, who is a U.S. Congressman from suburban St. Louis, manages to come within 5 points of McCaskill in the Democratic stronghold of greater St. Louis. Elsewhere in the state, the Republican leads. McCaskill has a 10-point advantage among the youngest voters, but Akin leads among voters age 35+.

And then suddenly, and miraculously, just a few says after this poll is released, this whole contrived brouhaha surfaces.

Blind people, open your eyes.

Akin is radioactive. The commie press will repeat his insane remark 24 hours a day every day until he’s gone, using it to try and tar every other Republican in 2012 and to avoid having to report on the economy and Obama’s record in general. This is what the commie media have been waiting for: a way to define Republicans as extremist nut jobs, and Akin is their perfect storm. I don’t care who he is or what he stands for, Akin has simply got to go. Period.

It's not just a coincidence that many of the anti-Romney crowd on Twitter and other places who have predicted a Romney nomination will mean another 4 years of Obama AND have vowed NOT to vote in this election because Romney is actually worse than Obama is the same crowd standing behind the man who took Biden's stupidity off the front page.

For the record: Romney was second to last on my list of candidates. I also predicted the possibility that Romney could lose against Obama.

Difference is, I'm not working to make my prediction a reality not can I any longer blame Romney or the GOPe for our defeat.

Set back for conservatism. This guy needs to go.

I still would like to hear him explain “legitimate rape”.

What rape is legit?

There was absolutely no attempt by the Republicans to spin this and try to deflate it. The GOP just jumped on board the leftist media bandwagon without offering the guy any support. Reince Pribus (sp?) should have been on the phone immediately telling Akin how to try and spin, or excuse, his remarks, and then Republicans should have came out and defended him as simply a man who spoke. Seems to me that the GOP joined the democrats in their assault on Akin, and in fact the democrats have had to do very little to keep the story alive because they know the media will do it for them. The democrats are laughing their azzes off not because they believe they can keep a senate seat, they are laughing because once again they caused the Republicans to piss their pants and eat one of their own. Most likely Akin is an idiot, but look how the democrats defend their idiots Pelosi and Biden. The very mindset that caused the GOP to cut ties with Akin is the very same mindset that causes the party to nominate rinos like McCain and Romney. It is the fear of criticism from the left and the fear that a conservative would get the party labeled as nothing but a group of selfish, money grubbing, sexist, cold hearted bigots. The GOP has accepted the leftist created stereotype of conservatism and wants nothing to do with because that would be politically incorrect. In other words, the Republicans fear conservatism as much, if not more, than they do the socialism of the left.

You are drinking the liberal pro-abortion kool-aid provided by Planned Parenthood. PP and liberals want you to think the rate is high so they can have an excuse to do more abortions.

I was a counselor at a Crisis Pregnancy Center for years, as well as other positions. I agree that after an abortion the suicide rate goes up. Alcohol abuse and drug addiction also is higher for those who have an abortion. What does that have to do with what we are talking about?

Wilke just did the compilation. Studies were done by:

1 New England Journal of Medicine, A.N. Groth, Sexual DyFORBESSunction [sic] During Rape, Oct. 6, 1977, p.764-6
2 Mahkorn & Dolan, “Sexual Assault & Pregnancy.” In New Perspectives on Human Abortion, University Publisher of Amer., 1981, pp.182-199
