I just emailed it to a bunch of my 2nd Amendment friends. Time to stand up. Actually, WAY PAST TIME!!!

I think that's the first ad I have seen EVER that really addresses the 2nd Amendment.

Yep... suffice to say that the big "sporting arms" manufacturers have avoided any such "controversy" in the past. There were too many Fudds/Tweeds/Plaids/whatever out there that they apparently feared offending. Perhaps Remington senses that just maybe, that tide has finally turned.

Or maybe they understand that this election really is for all the chips, in terms of gun ownership. Whatever motivated this, good for Big Green.

Even if we have a civil war, China or Russia neither one would be stupid enough to invade. The decision to throw every nuclear weapon we have at them would be lots easier if there were trouble on the home front. Also, whose”side” would they claim to be on? Their economies would be collapsing too. Kinda reminds me of K Mart merging with Sears....

***

1) You’re right. They can nuke us from their subs.
2) Who says in the middle of a Civil War, we could even issue the order to nuke them back.
3) They’ll find new markets. Also, the price of oil would collapse after we get nuked, spurring worldwide economic growth.

Check it out. A Russian sub with nuclear missiles was in the Gulf of Mexico.

They’d nuke, THEN invade.

I have not bought a new Remington for years...

I may have to rethink that decision. They make some very nice guns.

There was a rumble at this year's SHOT show to the effect that Remmy may be bringing back the Nylon 66 semiauto .22 rifle. I've heard the name *Nylon 6600* floated for the new models, maybe with a *Remington Green* stock. We shall see.

I never understood why they stopped making the Nylon 66. By all accounts it was a very popular rifle.

It was not known as a tack driver, but had reasonable accuracy.

It was known to be very, very reliable.

I would love to see them come out with a new, improved version!

The new version should have a threaded barrel and come with a thread protector for accessories.

Remington Sells Out To NY For $80 Million “Sniper” Rifles Government Contract
Apr 13, 2013

remington

Back in February, several gun manufacturers decided to boycott law enforcement in states that are hostile to the Second Amendment, states like New York for instance. They would not be providing weapons or ammunition. Within a week that number had grown by over 700%. In the first article I provided information for several gun manufacturers that could be contacted to come on board with this boycott, including Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson and Remington. Well, now we know where Remington stands. They stand on the side of government as they have let it be known that they will be staying in New York and they have now acquired a government contract worth $80 million.

Remington informed New York state lawmakers that they were planning to spend $20 million to upgrade their manufacturing facility in Mohawk Valley. The word was that they were considering moving if New York implemented stricter gun control laws as they have in the NY SAFE Act. Remington had been approached by several states to move.

Lawmakers spoke with Remington about their expansion. The company has received $5.5 million in state incentives over the past five years.
