The surprise factor is one I reason I would still carry concealed even if I lived in an open carry state.

As more people carry concealed the bad guys need to be more selective when choosing their criminal environment. Too many people to try an keep an eye on. Then again, crooks are kinda dumb so it just may lead to a faster thinning of the herd.
