When it really gets down to it, people vote based on a feeling, and with the news media, arts and Hollywood in his back, a clean cut thin figure, youthful appearance, big white teeth, nice smile, cool swagger, jog onto the stage, his calm and collected look even when he has nothing intelligent to say, his GQ suits and look, his race, broken family, national origin, urban appeal...
