We are also looking at a 14-17KW gas fuelled generator, to run on natural gas. Same deal...free gas, and will run a line from the well to the house.

The freezer first, then the generator. We will have the line available when we need it to run from the well to the house...while we can get it. We have the know-how available to us...

“We have been shopping at Lehman’s...”

Oh, wow, I’d like to just walk around in there. That’s sort of the holy of holies of good stuff, to me.

Lol! Good for you!

Me, I been busy harvesting stuff from my garden, especially seeds. Carrot seeds, chard seeds, celery seeds, purslane, got pea pods on the vines still drying out, greens beans, NZ spinach seeds (well, they’re still flowering, but they will seed up soon)

The NZ spinach is one I really like. Mostly because it’s prolific, had good drought tolerance, and the biggest plus, THE SLUGS AND SNAILS DON’T GO NEAR IT!

And edible plant here in the NW is best if it’s slug-resistanr!

You must have great fishing there and are probably cool while you’re fishing. Can’t imagine fishing for salmon. I’m in Texas.

Thing is, if I was fishing for survival, I wouldn’t even bother trying to catch salmon.

I’d be at the local ponds filling my stringers with crappies and bluegills and sunfish and the occasional smallmouth bass...

Those little panfish are bony buggers, but they will hit just about anything!

I’m in Texas.

You are legally required to evicerate or gill grass carp. They are good eats. Alligator Gar is also good eats if you have tin-snips to clean them with. Recipes available on request.

This also has some pink on it; it might look nice next to your fishing pole:

but they will hit just about anything!

I find that they are most likely to show up with 400K volts applied correctly, or stuff that goes boom. (We won't discuss walnut hulls)

Certainly not currently lawful, and I don't suggest that anyone do that.

"You gonna fish? Or you gonna talk?" Old joke...

I don’t want your recipes - I want you to clean them and cook them.

LOL - Love that killer pink rifle. I do have a pink pepper spray gun - looks like a gun and has a holster.

How ‘bout we barter? I have lots of stuff I could trade for that meal.

LOL! my baby girl once again tried to talk me out of her great-grandmother's .38 shorty today. To no avail. It's the only pistola that's actually saved my life.

She's good with pink rifles. I should get her one before I shuffle off this mortal coil. I expect I will, just for stuff and giggles.

The lake that is the closest to me (< 1/4 mile), if you go down there and hang your feet in the water, the bluegills literally attack you!

They don’t have much at all for teeth, so it just tickles, I always crack up when I see kids go in the water and start screamin.

And there are some MONSTER bullfrogs in those waters, but they are very, very wary.

I'm about a mile from a lake. We also have bullfrogs. And gigs. I'm harsh with that. ;) We do eat frog in this house.

Best firestarter around is a cotton ball with some petroleum jelly. It really works and it is cheap.

Lots of ways to start a fire. Every one is good.

Teach a kid some skills. I did, today. Any day with grandkids is good day.
