Mr. President, there is an old saying that, while a bit crude, is wholly appropriate for what is going on: Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
Most people are reasonably intelligent and have enough common sense to look at a situation and see what is really going on, but it has become a habit of yours and of those around you to try and tell us we aren’t seeing what we think we’re seeing.

Lots of folks don’t have common sense. Obama can tell them they are better off and they will believe him—all the Media will confirm his optimistic outlook. Who will you believe? Your own lying eyes and Tea Party red Necks or the New York Times and NBC? If you doubt it—your a racist, homophobic, Worse than Hitler!
If this were even close to the truth, Obama would never have been elected, even running against McLame, and in this election, he wouldn't even be on the ballot.
Or, as my wife taught our 5-yr-old daughter to say, “Don’t micturate on my leg and tell me it’s just condensation!”

I think Obama is very sick. Did you see the clips of him walking across the stage at the dem convention? His pantlegs were clinging to his skinny legs. They already pad his suit jackets, so his skinny shoulders won’t be so obvious. They need to put some lotion on his legs, so his pantlegs will not cling to his skinny legs. Hard for such a sickly person to fill a suit in the first place. And that bright orange makeup they put on his face!!!
Perhaps he should have said ‘a lot of people’. Even intelligent people do stupid things though, and we can only hope that some of them have learned from their mistake.
