For the past month I have been gathering materials for a rocket stove I wanted to build. I completed and first used it Tuesday Sept. 18. The total cost was less than fifty dollars. Most of that was for the insulation.
The photos are posted on facebook and each photo has a notes describing it.

A big benefit from rocket stoves is they require less fuel. Which means less work to collect the fuel. Although your way is a lot more flexible with cooking.
Another “collapse” benefit is that they produce little to no smoke, thus attracting less attention.
familyop, enjoyed your posts. Lots of truth in your words. I thank you for the compliment also. You were extremely kind. Please, ping me anytime. I miss so much, on the board these days due to availability of the magic of time, which does distress me, the missing things which are important information wise. Thanks so much, and may you and yours stay warm this coming winter. I will look forward to your pings, should you ping me.
These stoves really get hot and I would not use aluminum cookware but steel or stainless steel.
It also looks like a good design for smelting lead.
Good job looks very nice. I was planning to do this with coffee cans, but i like the idea of a larger drum.
Kart, I have added the final three photos to the project and posted them to Google so that non facebook members also can see them.
