Something Needs To Change
My View of The World ^ | September 23, 2012 | James P. Willis

Egypt’s new President Mohamed Morsi recently warned in an interview with the New York Times that it was up to the United States to repair its relationship with the Arab world. He said that the United States should do more to respect Islamic culture, even if it conflicts with Western values.

Something is seriously wrong with this picture. I would have to agree with Mr. Morsi that the relationship America has with the Arab world is in very bad shape, but that is the full extent of our common ground.

One vital element that has been missing from our relationship with the Arab world is respect; not our respect for Islamic culture, but their respect for us. For decades, we have bent over backwards to show them that we respect their culture, and all we have gotten in return is threats, burned American flags, and dead American citizens. It is time to change tactics.

Wouldn't it be nice if a few people in Washington felt this way?

Peace without vistory never works. We have an assymetrical fight with an entity that has openly declared war on us, and we have had no response. Since there will not be an engagement from our side, there will never be a victory for us, only a victory for them, by way of a silent surrender. Islamists (note I did not say Islam) is our declared enemy, and we are surrendering. What is Barry’s defintion of “peace” with Islamists? I hate to hear the answer.

What a complete joke this statement is. In what cases would the opposite scenario be acceptible to Arabs (i.e., appeasing the US when it conflicted with their values)? Virtually none.

Why should Americans respect Islamic culture? In spite of their riches in natural resources they live in poverty and oppression and violence, continually striking out at the “infidel”. No thanks.

The peace this latest Egyptian "strong man" respects is the peace of the common grave.

The longer we wait, the harder, more costly the victory must be.

We may be only a few years away from a world war that can have only one of two outcomes.

War is about survival, not honor. Only when we perceive that our survival is at stake will war, real war, come.

It will be a long march to Mecca.

Islam IS the enemy. From where else do ‘’Islamists’’ come from? To think any less is foolish. And dangerous.

It is a fact that you can’t make friends with a rattlesnake. The sooner we learn that the better.
