Anger grows over media bias
the examiner ^ | 9/27/2012 | BY: FRANK VERNUCCIO

Anger is beginning to erupt nationwide over what many perceive to be media bias against Mitt Romney and other Republican or conservative-oriented candidates. The Media Research Center has consistently provided examples of bias against the Republican challenger to President Obama.

The bias extends beyond actual news reporting and includes the well-known proclivity of Hollywood to back leftist candidates, exemplified by the recent disclosures that funds would be provided to “push” a pro-Obama message on purely entertainment television shows. The incentive may well be a redundancy. Indeed, some broadcasts, David Letterman being a prime example, already sound like humorous infomercials on behalf of the president.

The heightened level of anger is thought to have sprung from several recent incidents, although lingering resentment over exceptionally pro-Obama sentiments, particularly on television news broadcasts, remain from the 2008 election. A prime example often cited by critics is MSNBC’s Chris Mathews admission that he gets “a thrill up his leg” when he hears Obama speak.

the simple answer is to just have some conservative billionaire buy CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and fire everyone, then fix this mess.

My dream has been to purchase MSNBC, fire everyone, then broadcast an empty desk for about 48 hours before switching over to my new network.

Maybe I'd spray paint "tea party!" or something like that across the front of Rachel Maddow's former desk.

Even if I were the billionaire, I'd do the spray painting myself.

The trouble is, as the old saying goes, a rich conservative will buy an NFL team, while a rich liberal will buy a newspaper.

THAT would be GREAT! It won’t happen though of course.

Instead, why don’t we just boycott them and their sponsors and let them know what we are doing. Surely there are things they sell we can do without altogether?

I don’t watch them so I don’t know who to boycott and they don’t publish lists.

I should think a few months would break them from sucking eggs.

Isn’t it time to fight and hurt the enemy? Isn’t it time to quit being compassionate? Can’t we be ruthless and punishing without stooping? Don’t we have rights, conviction and a spine?

There is no media bias.

If you stupid racist, sexist, homophobic Tea Baggers in Flyover country were smarter, you’d realize that.

I do not have a problem with open partisans like Matthews being biased.

I DO have a problem with bias by reporters and editors of news. And this kind of bias is rampant.

we notice that Jeopardy often has loving questions about bammy or his witchy wife....

number one rule in our house:..whoever has the remote, must be ready to mute it instantly for any bammy reference....

I have to believe that if 60 percent of people polled don’t trust the media, then 60 person of those same folks polled will vote for Romney.

What part do we all play in contributing to these media hacks, hollyweirdo's, rapgangbangers, late nite, ever failing Johnny Carson wannabes.

How do we support these corrupters of American Freedoms and moral values, and we do support them as do our children in purchasing power. (by the way, our children get their money from the parents), accountable parents?

We have the power to bring their down their regime.

I’ll believe the claims of no bias by lamestream media the moment they start referring to those who support the family ‘Traditional marriage supporters.’

I have a problem with Matthews. Though Hannity is partisan, he at least has facts to back up most of what he says. Matthews just cried “racial codewords!” with no evidence at all. He also blatantly lies on TV. “I live in a black neighborhood!”... with a 98.5 population of whites. And what about Ed Schultz who called Ingraham a “right wing slut”. He should have been fired for that.

Ahhhm... Trump. He could do it. I don’t think he has the money though. Glenn Beck maybe, if he can find the funding. I’ve thought that the weak sister CBS might be amenable to a hostile takeover.

In the meantime, maybe someone will kick Chrissy Matthews' ass. Since they are slow learners it probably wouldn't solve the problem, but it would put a big smile on my face!

I would buy PMSNBC, but I wouldn’t fire everyone. I’d have Maddow bring me my coffee and pick up my dry cleaning. Matthews can wash my car and cut my grass. All on the air, of course.

I should clarify - I think Matthews is a clown who's presence in media is socially corrosive. But He's not passing himself off as an objective source of unfiltered news, so people can laugh his comments off as the rantings of a batsh*t left winger.

My problem is with the arm of journalism who, passing themselves off as objective, set the context for rest of us by selective reporting and more & more often outright deception.

That would never get past the F.C.C.

Today on the local noon news, they announced that the NFL referees would work tonight’s game. The first thing out of the announcer’s mouth was “President 0bama hails it as a great day for America.” Like he had $h!+ to do with it! So much for my lunch appetite. This is so unbelievably over the top; now I know what it was like to live in Stalin’s USSR. Everything good flows from the generosity of Dear Leader. Event the sun shines more brightly on him.

Only after I reminded them that I owned their contracts and made them read my news and my spin word for word and only my words.

Then I would give them offices in broom closets at some affiliate station is Chicken Squat, Mississippi and make them read the farm report, set their hours from 0200 to 1100 every-other-day, make them punch a clock and find a way to make them in breach of contract so I could terminate them for cause and without further payment.

Getting even isn’t good enough for me.
