After becoming a nation-wide instant celebrity, La Crosse Wisconsin News Anchor Jennifer Livingston has inked a new television contract.
(Associated Posers) – LA CROSSE, Wisconsin – What started out as a woman's crusade to shame someone who wrote her an email reminding her of her weight has turned into a television show contract. Jennifer Livingston signed a deal with her employer WKTB, Channel 8, to do a daily segment where she will take e-mails and assassinate the character of the author.
“Move over Jerry Springer, TV just went there!” announces a new promo for the segment called 'Jennifer's Daily Fatwa'. The stations evening news director, and Jennifer's husband, Mike Thompson said he is an enthusiastic supporter of the concept.
After becoming an overnight celebrity for calling an e-mailer a “bully”, Jennifer Livingston said it was like living a dream. “Being famous for a day is pretty cool, usually I'm only noticed around La Crosse but now I've been seen all over the world”. The stations' Facebook as well as her own have filled up with supportive comments.
"What an AMAZING woman you are Jennifer!" viewer Felicia Nelson Koth chimed in. "I think you are excellent role model for everyone especially your girls."
The station promises the new segment will be hard hitting and sometimes gritty as Jennifer tells it like she sees it. Promo's have warned viewers to “reread their email before sending” and ask themselves 'what would Jennifer do?'
“Just keep your opinions to yourself” he told us “If you don't want to feel the pain of Jennifer's retribution!”
In the first segment aired last night a student at local Viterbo College complained that he thought a story they did about the military seemed unfair. “I am simply asking you to report fairly on the military, they aren't a bunch of armed crazies wanting to kill people, they are fighting for us, fighting and dying for us” - Daryl Holland, Viterbo University.
Jennifer got tough: “Listen up, Viterbo University. You and your Catholic college being one of the more military-friendly campuses in America is really a dark stain on La Crosse. Your cult is now brainwashing students to worship the military-industrial complex, this is beyond the pale. These poor, mostly minority soldiers probably couldn't get a job anywhere else in this racist country, but I guess the body count would bother a lily white ginger kid like you, right Daryl Holland? You are a brainwashed guppy caught in a tidal eddy on the wrong end of the gene pool, you poor besotted child. Your schools Chaplain Fr. Conrad Targonski has blood on his hands, and you want to lecture us on fairness? Oh whitey please...”
Jennifer's Daily Fatwa is immediately one of the more unique local programs in the country and looking through her email she says “It's a target rich environment out there”.
Like I said on the original post I think she’s pretty and seems like a nice person but, this was nearly 5 minutes of her getting it off her chest and preaching about bullying.
I know was hurtful. She has to wash flaws everyday and is very aware of them but, she focuses on her strengths to keep her head straight and spirits high.
If it made her feel better for doing something fine but, I don’t have a problem with bullying from a legal standpoint, which is the direction this whole thing is going.
Bullying will always be a fact of life and what one does with and how they respond to it are important in developing one’s character so they can face down jerks in their life as they go through it.
Personally, I am the #1 child from a large family and living with my competitors for 18 years taught me a lot about dealing with people and their various personalities.
I usually blow off bullies as most of the time they understand I will probably respond eventually and they keep it low level enough that it’s just two guys trading barbs.
I actually look at these people as batting practice because time and again each time they crossed a threshold with me and I responded to the point of overwhelming them whether it’s the workplace or social setting or just a friend who somehow got a little big for their britches.
In the workplace you can deal with them by embarrassing them, which I have done.
I have actually been called out three times when I worked at companies. Twice we in a car and they demanded the person driving pull over. I told them fine but, I am going to get first and I’ll be waiting.
Both these guys were extremely jealous of me for reasons that I won’t go into but their problems really where about men with little d&*%s and small egos masked by their loud mouthed, vulgar masks that when called, are usually revealed to be what they are: envious morons.
Both times the drivers of the cars told the other guys something along the lines of “We aren’t stopping so we can watch you receive a predictable ass beating. Vendome plays to win”.
At the time I was all smiles wishing they would stop but, now that I am older glad they didn’t. It would have been a terrible mistake to do what I would have done to them.
Another time, it was actually in the office. Now, I don’t know what the deal with people thinking they kick my ass and maybe they can but, I don’t back down. I’m usually polite about the whole threat BS because I can recognize bluster.
So this guy had actually submitted a fraudulent order and I informed my manager who checked and found the order to indeed be fraudulent. He was severely reprimanded and I guess the thief, which is what I called him before he submitted the order, figured I was the narc. Of course I was. I hate fraud because it effect all of in ways I can’t stand.
If it had gone up the line and been found out our entire office would have been subjected to very deep scrutiny that would have resulted in what I would believe are stupid questions on orders and would slow down the selling process making my life chaos, disordered and very unhappy.
I like being sales because I am free to do what I want. No one tells me what to and if this dip shit had been found out, at the corporate level, I would have been forced to reorder my life and I don’t want to.
So this guy waits until it’s lunch time. Now I rarely go to lunch with anyone, because I don’t like hearing about BS I couldn’t care less about and taking a full hour or two to eat is a collosal waste of time.
So this guy knows and I forget what he started saying but it was something along the lines of me thinking I’m better than anyone else. Lame-O. I mentored half the people in the office and several were there to watching this guy explode.
He then launched into a tirade about Christianity, weird because is one, and then that I enviouis and covetous of others and a whole lot of dribble that didn’t really makes sense.
So I laughingly replied “Wow, that’s some kind of projection there. What’s sad is you don’t have to be that kind of person. You can choose to honestly work your ass off and not concern yourself with others”.
Well, that is all it took. He then launched into my duplicity about “Not being concerned with others”.
I laughed again “Well, there exceptions. Fraud and thievery being among them”.
Now a couple of people knew about this and their eyes got wide for me calling a spade a spade.
Now the guy becomes irrational and screams about me being shown I am not better than anyone else and he’s going to kick my ass.
So I dropped what I had in my hand. Actually, I casually tossed it on the desk next to me.
I put my hands in my pockets and shrugging my shoulders I looked him directly in his eyes and said “Well, I don’t know. You wanna do this here or outside?” and I then sharpened my stare as my face became game focused.
He then had the audacity to yell “If you are so interested fighting then why don’t try it here”.
To which I then responded as I laughingly mocked him “Hey, you are the one who brought up ass kicking. If you feel so froggy...LEAP!”.
He just stood there.
After a second or two I just started laughing and waved my hand as I turned to walk back to my desk.
He started calling every name in the book and a bunch of the girls started trying to calm him and they got him out of the office.
My boss called me into his office and wanted to know what happened.
I asked “What do you mean?”.
He said “Between you and #$%^&*”.
“Nothing. He thinks he is a successful bully and I exposed him”.
He started laughing, saying I was too much.
I told him had to go.(I was going to an afternoon movie with my brother).
The point in all this is not impress anyone but, to impress upon you that bullies need to be stood up to.
It’s great for your soul and deflates theirs.
When you’ve had enough you ridicule them and force them into one of two actions:
Action, which you can respond and they will always wither because they never expect you actually fight back harder than them.
Retreat, which is usually the outcome and their bullshit is now redirected to someone else and honestly, I can’ worry about the world.
It’s just me and my little circle of friends and loved ones.
Always stand up to a bully when they cross whatever threshold is a bridge to far for you.
