I don't know how many of you remember this little line within a recent Daily Mail article:
Barack Obama's top strategist said that the campaign will take a 'hard look' at how to approach future debates in the light of last night's failure - and appealed to the media to challenge Mitt Romney on the issues which the President avoided in Denver.
Well, we have the latest coordinated attempt on the part of our "impartial" media to do so.
Willard met with the editorial staff of the Des Moines Register and made the following comment:
Theres no legislation with regards to abortion that Im familiar with that would become part of my agenda
Before going on, read what the man actually said.
Also in the same Des Moines Register article, Romney said that he would reinstate the Mexico City policy, support the Hyde Amendment (which is already law in any HHS appropriation bill) and not appoint activist judges.
But what happened when the national State Run Media picked up the piece:
Folks, is it not PERFECTLY obvious what the MSM is doing here?
I realize that some people really need to have a picture drawn, so let me do it: The MSM is scared to death about recent poll results and so they opt to distort a comment and make a headline that will be a wedge between pro-life voters and Romney. They full well realize that none (well, at best, very few) of us are totally comfortable with Romney's alleged pro-life "conversion" prior to the '08 Presidential cycle and that many, if not most of real conservative support for Willard is due to the fact that he is not Zerø. And they also realize that most people read the headlines and make their minds up before reading an entire article.
In other words, the MSM is spinning and twisting and distorting to help their bubba Axelrod out with his "appeal." And sadly, I see far too many of us falling for it. Hook, line, sinker.
I full well realize that Willard is not a solid pro-life person and I, frankly, am not optimistic that he is going to be anything special...but at least he's never been pro-infanticide.
If you don't want to support him on principle, that's your business (and, if you aren't in a swing state, I couldn't blame you a bit...). But if you take that position, take it based upon what the man has said and done. Don't let the media spin you.
Good post.
This is done every election cycle yet people seem to fall for it.
Fixed.
Thank you. That was very worthwhile.
My wife and I are as pro life as they come.
There is nothing that could stop us from voting against 0bama.
This is a lame effort IMO.
Anyone who cares about that issue enough has already made peace with their decision in this election.
I think this is scraping the bottom of the barrel of desperation by the MSM.
