Friday Afternoon Roundup - Scarecrows and Syrians

THE SCARECROW LIVES

In August, I wrote in, "The Scarecrow of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" that Biden's chief function was to make Obama look good.

That was the function he performed at the debate. He was the scarecrow who will make Obama's enhanced aggressiveness seem more moderate by comparison. He's a joke who can't lose a debate because no one takes him seriously. He can only inflict damage because like a child or an idiot, he operates outside the realm of responsibility.

YUP, WE'RE ARMING AND TRAINING SYRIAN REBELS

Good news for people who think our enemies should be running our foreign policy. In between Biden's insane rantings and strange laughs, he did let one minor thing slip out.

VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN: Let — let — let me — you don’t go through the U.N. We are in the process now and have been for months in making sure that help, humanitarian aid, as well as other aid and training, is getting to those forces that we believe, the Turks believe, the Jordanians believe, the Saudis believe are the free forces inside of Syria.

The Saudis are Islamists and terrorist supporters. Turkey is run by Islamists and terrorist supporters. And not only did Biden effectively admit that we're arming and training Syrian Sunni rebels, but that Obama has led the Saudis and Turkey's Islamist AKP, both of whom back a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Syria, determine who gets our aid.

But that might be because of the...

...OBAMA DOCTRINE

The Obama Doctrine sought to resolve the War on Terror by dividing Islamists into two camps; the moderate political Islamists and the extremist violent Islamists. These categorizations were wholly artificial and everyone from Obama on down knew how artificial the differences between the so-called extremists and moderates were.

The Afghanistan Surge, which cost nearly 1,500 American lives, was a brute force mechanism for engineering a divide that was supposed to result in the military defeat of the Taliban and their transformation into a political party. The Taliban would be free to lock up Afghan girls again, so long as they did it after winning a democratic election.

1,500 American soldiers died in Afghanistan to improve Obama’s leverage in his failed bid to transform the Taliban into a political party. It is hard to think of any aspect of his foreign policy more hideously repulsive than this simple fact.

...that's an excerpt from my article, The Obama Doctrine Exposed

AND NOW SOME GOOD NEWS AND SOME BAD NEWS

Romney's ahead in a few places like Florida, Virginia and New Hampshire, but lots more will still happen before the closing bell.

Romney is now beating Obama among Jewish voters... according to one poll... and among Florida Latinos.

Somali Muslims in Maine are once again causing problems and Russia's arms deal with Iraq gives the latter the ability to go after US manufactured aircraft.

The Marines are looking for a few bad Christian and Hindu extremists and America does not need more teachers.

Teacher to student ratios have been steadily shrinking even as our educational system has gotten worse. In the 1950s, we were at the top of the world, turning out the leaders of tomorrow with one teacher teaching an average of 27 students. Today the system is absolutely hopeless with one teacher teaching an average of 15 students. We’ve doubled Federal educational spending to no avail.

The 15 students of today could not even begin to pass the tests that the 27 students of the 1950s could.
Obama is still in touch with what's happening.

Obama then stumbled on the number of days until the election — “what is it, 34?” he said, before being given the correct number, 36.

“So whatever it is,” Obama said, “it’s really coming up quick and obviously Nevada is going to be critical to this fight. Nevada’s going to be close. It’s going to be close all across the country.

And the ACLU is being silent about the Mohammed movie case for a reason.

The ACLU now counts at least eight Muslims on its national executive staff alone. In fact, a Muslim runs the ACLU’s Center for Democracy, while another heads its National Security Project.

The irony is not lost on Steve Emerson, director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

“The ACLU was founded on the basis that there shouldn’t be any blasphemy laws,” said Emerson, who’s airing a new documentary, “Jihad in America: The Grand Deception.” “Yet in the last 10 years, they’ve appointed (to their boards) members of the Muslim Brotherhood who believe in blasphemy laws.”

WHILE BIDEN LAUGHED

...while Biden laughed gas hit 6 bucks a gallon

While Biden smirked the new leadership of Egypt has called for a war against the Jews

While Biden chuckled an American woman was kidnapped in Afghanistan

And who said this timeless phrase?

“For too long in this society we have celebrated unrestrained individualism over the common community.”

Why it was none other than Joe Biden.

Anyone who remembers his American history courses in grade and high school – when American history was still being taught, because very little of it is today – will also remember all the glowing, adulatory accounts in standard textbooks of Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy. One encountered nary a disparaging word about them. They "saved the world," were "forward looking," or "ahead of their time," and "served selflessly" the cause of "democracy" and "social justice." These particular presidents appeared in those textbooks as squeaky clean, literal saints, and were held up as models of political and national leadership.

They could do no wrong, and if these real-life Dudley Do-Rights failed in their missions to reorient the electorate to be more easily led to moral adventures, the New Frontier, and Great Societies, it was all the fault of greedy obstructionists and other Snidely Whiplash villains in Congress or the Supreme Court.

Worse still, it was implied ever so subtly that we the people didn't deserve to have them as leaders. They were too good for us. We'd be punished for not living up to their expectations, for eschewing the need for "leaders."

And we have been punished: We got Barack Obama.

And finally from Seraphic Secret

Many people in the Arab world are beginning to ask many questions about the past, present, and future with regard to the Arab-Israeli conflict. The hard question that no Arab national wants to ask is: What was the real cost of not recognizing Israel in 1948 and why didn’t the Arab states spend their assets on education, health care and infrastructure instead of wars? But the hardest question that no Arab national wants to hear is whether Israel is the real enemy of the Arab world and the Arab people.

Great minds think alike... as I was just now searching to find an earlier Greenfield post.

"And of course there is the always popular Mosque renovation program reported on by Front Page earlier.

In 2010, the State Department provided monetary support for saving three mosques on Zanzibar Island off the coast of Tanzania, mosques which included the 900-year-old Kizimkazi mosque, considered one of the oldest Islamic buildings on the coast of East Africa.

That generous American donation was repaid in July 2012 when Muslim mobs, shouting, “Away with the church — we do not want infidels to spoil our community, especially our children,” burned down three Christian churches on Zanzibar Island.

In 2011 the State Department provided funds to restore the 15th century Gobarau Minaret in Katsina State in Nigeria’s predominantly Muslim north, an area which has become a virtual killing field for Christians at the hands of Muslim militants, led by the al-Qaeda-linked terror group Boko Haram.

Since 2009 over 288 Christian churches in Nigeria have been burned, thousands of Christian-owned homes destroyed, and over 2,000 Christians killed, including in July 2012 when fifty members of a northern Nigerian church were burned to death in their pastor’s house.

The State Department had billions for the Muslim Brotherhood and Pakistan, for the people killing us, but it supposedly did not have the money to defend against them.

Is it any wonder that with all the useful things the State Department does, it just couldn’t figure out how to budget consulate security too?"
