The merit pay law is one of many that school districts could undo if Proposal 2 passes in November. If passed, the law would allow government union contracts to overrule laws made by the legislature. Taxpayers could be hit with at least $1.6 billion a year in costs from the lost savings created by government union contract reforms. If this isn't found unconstitutional (if passed), then this nation can no longer claim to be a nation of laws.
