Vote for my son's guitar playing??

Is it ok to ask for help from my fellow freepers to help my son win a contest on the radio? If so, please give me a hand. He's a bit shy but is a great rock guitar player and writes his own music. He entered a contest called "Repeat It or Delete It" and was accepted. He's only 17, records in his room with computerized drums for backup and is up against a full band. Here's the info, please give me a hand!

Ok, this is the week my son James Hess needs your vote in the Repeat It or Delete It contest on the radio. Wednesday evening (10/24/12) they will start playing the two bands competing. To vote you have to sign up as a VIP member at 98.3thesnake.com When you sign up you automatically get 2500 points and the vote costs 500 points. Click on the Repeat It or Delete It link with two bands, James Hess, and the other guys, and look for the link that says Vote Now. Please vote for him, he's a one man band (guitar player) up against real bands! Thanks everybody!

Hope he wins....

Here is an Aussie I listened to in concert a few weeks ago. He’s a good role model...

Done! Good luck to him, and I hope he wins. But tell him to keep on plucking anyway—and he needs to get over his pushback from being in a band and go for it!

My husband is a musician and has been in several bands, and currently is the lead musician for our church Praise Band. Music stays with you all your life, so this is a neat talent for your son to continue to develop!

Blessings and again, good luck!

Sorry about that.

You all don’t know how much this is appreciated. Freepers helped me out when my son’s dad passed away 8 years ago next month. Guitar has been the one thing I’ve really been able to get him into since then. He’s been playing for five years, started in a a church and now teaches free lessons at that same church. Anyway, thank you so much!

There was no link. An incorrect link doesn’t count. :-) It is poor form to ask people to do something while being too lazy to provide a direct hot link. I stumbled my way over to the site and saw that you have to register and sign up. No thanks. I did like the gun rack on the wall of the kid’s bedroom though.

Sorry. I wasn’t sure which part of their site I should have linked to, the sign up page of the main page. By the way, I’m a she, the mom.

Thanks!

Thank you. He was in a band but their drummer got in trouble smoking pot. Rather he wasn’t around that kid anyway!
