If President Obama loses this election, the Democrats will need a scapegoat. The obvious scapegoat would be Obama himself. But hes been getting free passes all of his life, and the left-liberals who comprise the Democratic mainstream will think long and hard about holding him accountable now.
For one thing, hes manifestly one of them. For another, hes African-American.
Accordingly, the need for a different scapegoat would arise. That scapegoat would have to be someone significant enough to be plausible in the role and someone not strongly associated with the Partys left-liberal faction.
Someone like Bill Clinton.

Surely you jest or did your space shuttle just dock from Mars? If Obama is Jesus Christ then Clinton, to the Progressives, is God the Father. I won't speculate on Hillary.

As I read down this thread, my peripheral vision registered the last three words of your first paragraph as "self lubrication" before my eye actually got to them.
I just thought you should know that.

Senator Teddy Kennedy is the real scapegoat if Obama loses. The Obama camp modeled its strategy on the 1994 U.S. Senate race where Mitt Romney challenged Kennedy. Kennedy used Romney's founding of Bain Capital and all the associated class warfare boogymen against Romney. Some of Kennedy's campaign commercials featured laid-off workers who, 18 years later, popped up in Obama’s TV ads. The problem with adopting Kennedy's strategy is that nobody in Massachusetts could have beaten him for any office. So the theme of his campaign was irrelevant.
